so we've had our gliders about a month and believe we are progressing pretty well w/ bonding (especially w/ the lady jadyn). we dont have a tent, but have glider-proofed our bathroom and got them out in there a couple of times. do the benefits of using an actual tent revolve primarily around safety or are there social benefits as well?

But if you are using a bathroom it serves a similar purpose.
The advantages of a tent are that it is smaller and therefore forces closer interaction with you. And you can leave some of the stuff set up in it, so you don't have to take everything down each time.

I would say that the advantages of a tent are exactly what Alden said and you can also move the tent to where you want it and if your staying at your moms or a friends you could always take the tent with you.

I like the tent because no one goes potty in there but gliders! I have caught my gliders in the bathroom licking the floor or crawling around somewhere nasty like the back of the toilet - and I don't like any of that!! I don't feel like it's as clean as it should be. Granted I keep a clean bathroom, but I ideally only like to have my gliders in there when it's freshly cleaned. I mean, I live with a boy so a clean bathroom is only clean RIGHT after I clean it lol! Plus, bathrooms have so many hard landing spots - my girls have missed their target or fallen off towel racks and it always freaks me out that they are going to get hurt. So, IMHO, I much prefer a tent whenever possible. Plus if you have a tent just for suggie time, it's always got their same familiar smells in there, where a bathroom not neccesarily so much. HTH!

Good point Brittney! I'm scared they will fall and crack their head or break a bone! And arent tents supposed to make them feel more secure since the open area is not as big?

I like tent time because I don't have to worry about my pregnant mommies getting hurt, I don't have to chase them, and in the tent I am their favorite toy! Althought I do get lots of face hugs  !

The last time we had them in the bathroom I do remember wondering aloud how clean the floor is! And tent on carpet is certainly a lot softer then tile and a bathtub. AND gunner sure was hard to catch!! All makes good sense-we're currently working w/ what we got. Are there tents that you can hang stuff from? Or will WE be what's being climbed on?  What's a good size?
