Norbert has been crying ALOT the last couple of days. Is this normal behavior? He's 2 weeks OOP today. He especially cries if Petunia leaves the pouch even if Porky is in there, sometimes he cries when they're all in there, and always cries if he's left in there alone. If he's in there alone and I go get him he'll stop crying most of the time, so maybe it's just that he doesn't want to be by himself. Maybe he doesn't love his daddy?
Glider Kids - Badger and Bonnie, Pepsi and Grace, Victoria.. ahem..I mean ummm..Victor! and Isabella
I don't know how I'd tell if he's hungry. He doesn't nuzzle me or anything like he's looking to nurse. He'll curl up in my hand and go to sleep. Maybe he's cold? Porky doesn't seem to do the "dad" thing very well. Shouldn't he be staying in the pouch with Norbert while Petunia eats and stuff? Most times he doesn't.
My babies are 10 days OOP and the only time they will cry is if they are a). cold or b). hungry. Check to see if he has any milk in his tummy. If you hold him up to a light, you can see white-ish fluid in his tummy on the bottom left kind of by the scrotum area.
If he is cold, just stick him in your bra if he'll stay or try just cupping him in your hands and blowing warm air on him. Mine like when I do that and will fall asleep in a few seconds., :o) Hope everything is okay!

[:"green"]He is probably cold if he's not hungry. Since he's falling asleep in your hand, my guess is that he's cold. I would tuck some fleece blankies into the pouch so that when Mom & Dad leave the pouch, he still has a way to keep warm. You can check his tummy to see if it's full just as Tina described. I've attached a picture of a joey with a full tummy for your reference. It does sound like Porky isn't doing his daddy-job very well. But every male is different in how much he tends to the joey. Most are very attentive, but there are some who are rather blase about the whole thing. Okay, here's that pic...
I'll try the blanket thing. And thanks, Suz, for the picture! I'd read about holding him up to the light, but when I did it I couldn't tell what to look for. His tummy's all full and I saw him nursing tonight. I guess he's cold because Porky thinks that if Petunia's out of the pouch he has to be out too.
did u breed his mother or did u get him from somebody? well i got a glider that was about that age and he did about the same thing. we found out that he was stressed.
