Ok, what is a good day time temperature and night time temperature for these beautiful little gliders. I just wanna make sure mine are not to cold. Then, what is a good way to heat them (mainly for winter). WOuld a heat lamp with an infared bulb or ceramic heat bulb be ok??? Or is there a better method to heat a 3 foot tall bird cage??? thanks,

I keep mine between 72 and 74 degrees. That seems to make them happy and active. I have a little heater if I need to turn on in thier room if I have to

They say between 70-85. Anything over 90 can send them into hyperthermia and under 68 hypothermia. As for heating some use heat lamps, not close though. An extra blanket in there pouch is good to. Just stay away from using heating pads.

You could use a space heater in their room, but if you were going to allow them to have playtime in that room, you'd have to make sure you removed it or turned it off before letting them out.
Mine generally seem to be comfortable at the same temperatures I am comfortable. But then, keeping the house warm isn't as big a problem here in TX as it is in Utah! Our high temps this whole week have been over 103, and a couple of days we hit 107! I think I heard somewhere that it's supposed to be Fall, but I'm not feelin it!

Are there any warning signs for Hyperthermia that i should look out for? [:"purple"] [/]

I just got two gliders last week, and I've been worrying about how to keep keep them warm. I'm in northern IL and right now its getting to about 30degrees at night and barely 70 in the daytime. Do you think keeping a blanket over the cage and extra cloth in their sleeping pouch would be good?

That would help. Just watch your blanket to make sure that it doesn't have any loose threads that they could get caught on since they do seem to like to pull them through the bars of their cages at times. I also use a ceramic heat bulb (hooked up to a thermostat) that I suspend above their cage. That way, if they get cold there is at least a warmer area they can hang around in.

It really depends on how cold your house gets (especially at night). If it's getting too cold in your house, then I would think you would need to do more to add some heat to the room. I use a thicker cage cover and extra blankies in the pouch during the winter but on those cold nights, I turn on a small heater in the room and monitor how warm it gets in the cage. But my gliders are spolied and refuse to come out of their pouches if it's too cold or too bright in the room Thankfully it's still in the high 80's here so I don't have to worry about my guys getting too cold yet!
