We just received our ingredients for hpw tonight in the mail. Is there any particular way I should store the unused portion of the wambaroo powder and the bee pollen? Do they need to be in the fridge after opening or just in their original bags in the cabinet?

I just keep both in the freezer. It's easier that way (and lasts longer, IMO.) dunno

It says to keep it in a 'cool, dark place.' (sounds scary, doesn't it? grin ) But, in Texas, the cupboard ain't cool!

I put my HPW powder in a ziplock bag and store it in the fridge. My bee pollen came in a jar, so I just keep it in the fridge in the jar.

I really don't know. I've been feeding this diet for a little over a year now and am on my 3rd small box of the HPW powder. (Second purchase of bee pollen still going strong.) With that, I've fed from 5, to 2, to 4, to 6, to 7, to 15, to 11 to 9 and finally back to my 7! So, the amount of mouths vary, but...

I feed 4 suggies, so one batch of hpw seems to last me about a month. Give or take a day or 2.

I have 2 gliders and I have only made HPW twice(I've had the boys a little over 2 months) and the second batch is still going strong; little under 1/2 left. For 1 glider it may last you about 2-3 months just depending on how you're feeding it. I know some people "overfeed" so it can vary your lasting time....

I have two gliders and so far its lasted me a little over two weeks and i havent even touched the second-half if the first batch. So for one glider, the HPW should last atleast 2 months.

So how many teaspoons are in one ice cube tray? Also, does anyone puree up the fruits and veggies and mix it with their HPW?

You'll have to measure your icecube trays, as they are all different in size. And I wouldn't recommend mixing the HPW mix and fruits and veggies as you want to me sure on the measurments of all three (HPW 1 1/2 TEAspoons, 1 TABLEspoon Fruits, 1 TABLEspoon Veggies EACH glider). When you blend down the fruits and veggies it changes the measurments of the fruits and veggies slightly too, compacts them.

But if you blend them all separately and then measure each out and combine them in the tray, that should work then I would think. Also, the quantities you listed Match, that is per sugar glider? I ask because I will have two of them soon.

Yes that is per glider amounts. You could measure them first then blend yes, as blending compacts them throwing off the measurments of the fruits and veggies. I dont combine mine with the staple, but if its carefully measured I dont see a reason you absolutely couldn't.

I personally like to see how much they are eating and of what. Its really important they eat some of everything, a good variety. If that is what you do decided to do, please let us know how it goes! smile

It will surely last longer if it is in the fridge, not to mention you dont have to worry about weevils in the fridge like you do in the cabinets. thumb

I keep my HPW powder in an airtight container in the fridge (like it says on the box...cool airtight container) and I keep my bee pollen in the fridge in the zip-lock bag I got it in.

If you are feeding the correct amount of the HPW mix/night, 1 batch should last 2 gliders 2months and a couple weeks. I went through a couple months of 1 batch lasting my 2 1month before I realized I was overfeeding them. (A good indicator was when my gliders started to get a little chunky)
