[:"green"]When I was at the Michigan Glider Get Together, Karen had some wonderful plastic hardware cloth that we used to make glider toys. I wanted to make some more, so I went to Lowe's - but they didn't have it. So then I went to Home Depot - they didn't have it either. Where do I get it??? I really want some & I'm so frustrated . I thought it would be so easy to find ... Does anyone know where I can get it from? It's black vinyl mesh with 1/2" grid spacing. It's not the vinyl-coated wire (I already have some of that).
Thanks in advance for your help ,

Home Depot carries it but if your local store is like mine, they don't alway hire the brightest employees. Our store keeps it in the lawn and garden section with the garden fencing (stuff used to keep rabbits and such out).

Hey Suz!

As far as I know Home Depot doesn't carry it at all, they only have the metal kind (is it metal? I don't know!)

I got a roll of it at Lowe's on Sunday- and like whoever mentioned it above, it is in the garden section. It came in a 3' x 15' roll and if I can read correctly from my station on the couch it says Landware Hardware Net.

I think it was like $8.44 a roll!

Good luck!

I got 3 rolls recently at our lowes- out in the garden section by the fencing, its near the metal hardware cloth. I love it.. and we're going to use it for travel cages since its lighter weight then the metal stuff and they aren't in those long enough to cause problems.

Good luck- if you don't find it in your local Lowes, check online!

[:"green"]In the garden dept. by the rest of the hardware cloth is where I checked in both stores. No luck . So, I guess I'll check online next... Thanks for your help. Guess I just have ill-stocked stores here or something .

I found mine in home depot, inside in the fencing section, in the back by the chain link hardware.

Check your local hardware. I found some at Ace Hardware last week. I would call around to local hardware's before ordering it online. It would probibly be cheaper. My roll was only $12.99. I would bet you could get it at a local hardware. Good luck on your search. If you can't find it I am willing to pick you up some. I don't think shipping would be that much, its not heavy at all.

[:"green"]Denise,
Thanks for your generous offer. My parents live in Michigan, so I'm thinking about having them pick some up for me & then bring it with them when they come down this weekend. If they can't find it, I might just take you up on your offer .

You should try calling Lowes & ask them if they carry it. LOL after I got off the couch last night I checked and that really was the name on the roll- so just use that when asking!

Hopefully they were just out of stock!

I was going to say if you don't find it let me know- we'll be driving accross the OH turnpike on our way to my sisters with the gliders in tow sometime in the next few weeks (date uncertain since the baby isn't here yet!) and could stop around Cleveland and meet you... I am sure we can fit a roll or 2 in the car with us!

I found it at Home Depot but I had to get someone there to help me find it since it was not near the metal hardware cloth. If forget where exactly it was but it was near the fencing supplies.

I get mine from Lowes. You have to look in the garden center. I'm not sure why they call it hardware cloth. It is located near the fencing stuff. There are several types. Make sure you get the one that is 24" wide x 15'-0 long. It is very sturdy. Good luck

Don't forget to check your local feed store, Suz! I was amazed at the kind of stuff they had that I never thought they would carry. LOL

Oh, and I know how you feel... Lowes and Home Depot don't have any over here as well.

[:"green"]It's okay. I finally found some at the Lowe's in Lancaster when I was down there this weekend for my cousin's wedding. They just don't carry it at the stores locally. Now I know that I have to look FAR & WIDE!!! Thanks for all the tips everyone. My son already made a swing for one of my clans today and they've been playing on it for the past half hour !

[:"green"]Christine,
I'm not sure if you can order it online or not. Try going to Lowe's website and check to see if you can through them. It is called "Landware Hardware Net" and it is black with 1/2" square mesh. The UPC number on the label is: (0) 1051575139 (7). The bracketed numbers are the tiny numbers at the beginning and end. Hope this helps.

Patsy & Tina,
I don't know where I come up with these ideas from, they just pop into my mind. The swing is made just like the bridge. I'll do up instructions with pictures for it later today.

I think that's it!

It's kind of hard to tell from a picture online but the description sounds right and the packaging looks like mine did!

Good job finding it- a lot of people will probably be happy now!

Edit: WOOOOO! I just noticed that is $14!! Wow! I paid $8.50 for mine from Lowes Plus you'll probably have to pay shipping...

I'm so GLAD you are going to post directions for the swing. If anyone else has ideas for make-at-home toys, please post them. I'm craft-challenged without directions!
