I have to say, this is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Someone mentioned it on the forums the other day, and someone else posted this link:

http://www.freewebs.com/xglider/resettoys.htm

And I fell in love all over again! haha

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that when I get babies they do this, it's just too adorable.

Is it a common thing for gliders to do, or is it hit or miss?

I've also noticed that a lot of people take pictures in shelving like that -- Is that just for pictures, or do people use them for play areas or something of that nature? I know I have a set of shelving like that somewhere.

Aww! That pic is so cute and now it makes me feel like torturing Yang by doing that...bwaha.

I think all gliders are capable of tail carrying just, some don't like doing it. My mister carrys anything he sees into their pouch but she won't touch a thing. I know she can tail carry though because I helped her do it once and if she sees me holding a bracelet, she gets excited and puts a hand on it then looks up at me.

So, you just have to hope you get a glider that likes tail carrying. ^-^ I'd say to still hang up monkeys and bracelets...it might eventually tempt them. hehe.

Oh, I got my woman to tail carry by helping put it over her head and she kept trying to pull it down her body but couldn't so I helped her do that too. It took a couple tries but that's normal since she's not used to doing it...she looked like a clumsy little toddler compared to her man who is a professional! He puts it over his head, holds onto the top of the cage with his hands, wiggles his body, and lets the bracelet slide down and catches it on his tail. But, eventually, she happened to curl her tail up and when it got down to her tail, she actually kept it on there and was jumping around the cage like a bat outa [censored]. She'll only tail carry if I help her though...

Hehe, it's so cute! And in terms of straws -- I suppose it's a gider-by-glider basis on if they are okay for yours? From what I've read so far, some are chewers, some aren't.

I'm also assuming if they're trying to eat the straws then they need to go ASAP.

I agree with Kiiru, all gliders can tail carry, you just have to find something they want to tail carry. I have 6 gliders, all 6 of my kids tail carry almost every night. I use plastic cat rings, but some people don't like them and don't think they are safe (they aren't safe to use if you are breeding or have very obese gliders). Just like some people use straws and some people don't. You have to keep trying things with your gliders and find something they like and that you are comfortable with them having. But if you keep playing with them, you'll find something they can't resist. thumb

Well I have 2 that carry EVERYTHING into their pouch and believe me it gets to be a pain in the rump to remove everyday.

I snip the cat rings so that there's a break, but they still hold their shape - the cut is just a safety feature thumb

That is exactly what I was thinking!!! roflmao

The cat rings are called 'cat crazies' and you can pretty much buy them in any pet store (set of 4 colorful rings). I have used them for 7 years, my kids all have too many to count. I hang some on the monkeys/rabbits (which they pay no attention to except to get the rings from) or toss them on the floor and they diligently pick them all up every night. The boys like wearing them...it's weird, I have almost never seen my girls do that, but invariably one of the boys will be sleeping in one or two of them. roflmao

They remind me of the rings on milk gallons, just wavy! lol If I happen to drop a milk ring on the floor my cat goes nuts over it. Maybe I should pick up some of these for my kitty and for gliders.

I'm thinking of starting a 'glider stash' lol.

Snupi & Snuki I'm sure think that. They have a pouch full of monkeys and pull their links and chains in.
I don't see how they can sleep in there with all that junk. Brats!

Gilthanas is a MAJOR tail-carrier!

Here he is carrying garland to the nest

Here's a pic of their nest

They used to have a big chain garland hanging across the top of their cage. All that's left now are 2 tiny piece of garland in each top corner: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u67/Tortiebaby/GScage.jpg

Haha that's so cute.

Your cage is all pretty and coordinated and stuff.

He looks pretty, what type is he?

My boy keeps grabbing the monkies and throwing them around haha. Hopefully one of these days he'll get the idea to use his tail.

Yup, that's her real color. smile The stripe on her back is a bit darker. None of the pics I take of her truelly show her color. I need a better-quality camera. tounge

Here's a full-body pic of her:

She's lighter now, I need to get a new pic of her entire body, I just have partial shots like this:

They turned 2 weeks old yesterday and never hold still long enough for a pic, lol.

Well I went to Wal-Mart yesturday and got Yoda some blue monkeys and he wouldn't stop thanking us ALL NIGHT!

Bark bark bark hiss bark hiss hiss... etc etc, every time he thought we were moving in bed he'd start going off. At first it scared me and I got up thinking something was wrong and checked on him but he was fine.

Adam and I were cracking up in the middle of the night he wouldn't stop barking and pssting at us, and he knocked down just about every monkey and put them in his bag with all his rings, LOL.

Yoda has NEVER been that vocal before, so we can only assume he was having a VERY good time with the monkeys, LOL.

She's gorgeous, Nicole.

I think my boy makes a hissing nose, but I don't have anything to compare it to. Does anyone know of any recordings?

I was wondering what he could be making the noise at since we were both in bed and the cat was zonked out, but maybe it was the monkies! lol
