I'm just trying to do some research and be prepared in case something happens with Yuki & her baby. Just in case!
Are there other ways to ensure a healthy milk supply besides feeding extra mealies?
I've been loading her up on mealies- she's loving it! But if there's more that I could be doing I'd like to know too!

I suppliment my gliders with powdered puppy milk replacer when they have joeys. It really seems to help. A lot of people also use wombaroo, but I think that stuff stinks, lol.

Awww thanks Suz!! You are the best! I'll send you a PM in a minute.
After I try this stuff out- what size do you recommend I get, or maybe I should say how long does it last?
I see that I can drizzle it over their food or mix it in with water- so I'm assuming it's ok if other gliders get some. LOL Makes me think about the lactating men *HUMAN MEN* I saw on TV

So how do you use the milk?? Mix it and let them drink it or sprinkle it on the bml? Or what? I have a mom with joey just about OOP who rejected her joeys last time because she didn't have enough millk..so I have been giving her extra protein...but I also want to try this! Thanks so much!

Like all diet talk, you'll get lots of answers on this one. And since none of us are scientists, I don't know how much any one of us knows. But I too have used the briskys booster milk and the wambaroo milk both in powder forms. I just start dusting the top of their food with it when I know they are pregnant and keep it up for several weeks after the joeys are oop. I don't mix it up, just sprinkle. And I don't have trouble with moms not having enough milk, so I guess it's working As far as the daddies go, they are not getting too fat or growing any extra parts , so I guess it's ok. How long will it last? A long time, I think the last contaier I had would have had to have been about 8 oz and it lasted for many, many months.

I sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon over my expecting/nursing females food every night. Depending how much you get, it can last for quite some time...

I sprinkle the Wombaroo powder over their veggies because that's their favorite part of the meal & I know that EVERY night, their going to eat all of them even if they don't touch anything else. When Monster started running low on milk, I also started giving her a little tiny bit of the IMPACT colostrum powder (also Wombaroo), that stuff is like 60% protien. It seemed to help with her milk supply, she stopped biting the joeys (of course I was frantic, so I was also giving her other protien sources). I don't know how faithful I'd be to just extra mealies and Wombaroo powder - that worked great for Zoe, we didn't have any problems with her - but we fed extra mealies and Wombaroo powder to Monster & she still ran out of milk - I think it depends on the monkey. Just watch her closely & have everything on hand to adjust for her & to supplement if needed - I'm SO glad I did!
