Please DON'T move this to real stories!

This morning I was checking on everyone as I removed their food dishes. Yuki always comes to the side of the rept cuz she wants out & I noticed her stomach was missing that bulge.

I looked around the cage & I think I found what was left of the baby. It was sick I have no idea what it's supposed to look like but I don't know if this thing could've been anything other than the baby.

I think it's because the baby was inbred so I knew this could happen but it still stinks.

[:"green"]If what you found looks like bits of raw chicken, then it is the remains of the baby. It's very gross and I'm so very sorry that you had to experience this. I can still remember the time that I found remains in a pouch - I was literally sick for days .

All that was left was what looked to me like a spine & tail. It is sick but.... There wasn't anything else it could've been & Chad wouldn't look at it so I don't have a second opinion.

[:"green"]That does, indeed, sound like your little baby is gone. Again, I'm so sorry. You are probably right about it being because of the inbreeding. There was probably some sort of defect that would have made survival difficult if not impossible for the little one.

I wonder why she did it now and not when the baby was much smaller? I guess I'll never know.

Even though it was an inbred baby it was still gonna be my little fuzzbuddy.

I just posted on the other thread as I had not seen this. I just wanted you to know that I am sorry that this happened and send hugs to you and Chad. Nature sometimes works in ways that are hard to understand but I guess they are necessary.

Iam sorry Sara.. I know how excitted you were for this baby and how much you were preparing for it. Some times the mommas know best and we never know the real reasons behind it. It was her first time being a mom right? That could of played another part in this. Not only being inbred but a new momma. It is very hard but you will get through it. Just don't hate the glider for what she has done. I know of some people who stop liking gliders because of a death of a baby.

Yes it was her first baby- I thought about that this morning too.

I was mad at her at first but I started thinking about it and I know it's not like she did it to make me mad or something lol. I still love her- she's such a sweet girl & lately she's really been lovey dovey and much friendlier compared to when she came from the previous owner.

Thanks everyone for all your kind thoughts/words. I appreciate it! I can't believe how much this is affecting me, I guess I was already really attached to the little peanut.
