Ok, so my glider when he comes out of his cage and i try to hold him, he is really jumpy and trys to run under my bed blanket. I dont really like him under there because sometimes i miss a piece of his "droppings" and that can be gross to find in your bed! lol right now because of my living situation though, dont really have a "glider safe" room. So i was looking for some ideas on how to play with him, with him feeling safe and comfortable, and me feeling comfortable, cause it worries me when he runs around quick, as i am afraid of him getting under the bed, or someplace where i cant get him out. I am not so much afraid of stuff falling on him, but that i wont be able to find him or get him out. Or that he might eat something that he isnt supposed to, like computer wires or a spider.
Any ideas?!

Many people use pop-up tents for exactly the reasons you have mentioned. They are a great way to have safe bonding time with your gliders

My living room is really crowded, I tried several different tents but they were all just such a big pain to fold up every night. Finally I just broke down and bought a Genji tent and let me tell you, it's so much easier to just move some things out of the way, pop it up, play for awhile and then fold it back down, it's literally that easy and not as time consuming as a normal tent. I even have one of Suz' rope tent danglers hanging from the top in it and and I just leave it there, the Genji will fold up anyway without the hassle of taking it out and putting it back in every time. And because the sides are all mesh, if the suggies are too busy playing and don't want to play with me (other than to use me to jump off of), all I have to do is take the tv remote and watch tv while they're busy.

I love tent time with my crew! I laugh so hard at some of their antics. I definitely suggest tent time. I thought I would do like others have said, ie..bring a book or the remote. Nope. Not me. I'm an active participant!
My husband has come out and asked me if I'm nuts because I'm laughing so hard. Oh yea, bring a camera! There's great shots to be had inside a tent!!

chastity...my link in my signature...you can see the tent I use for tent time. Its an Ozark Trail Jr. It's a kid's tent but it's functional, doesnt take up a ton of room in my house and its super easy to put up and take down. I leave the toys and vines hanging so I dont have to spend a lot of time decorating the inside once its up. I got the tent at Walmart for like $14 dollars!

thank you for all of the help!! I think i will eventually get one of the Geni tents, but right now, it is not in my budget! lol my fiance made a joke that the cost of my glider went up by about 40 bucks when i joined this site! lol but he loves my glider as much as i do!! I am going to hopefully go get one of the little kids tents from wal-mart, I think that will be sufficient lol.
I am looking into getting a second glider, for a cage mate. any advice on combinging the 2? do you have to have seperate cages for them?

There is some mesh on the top of the tent also. I had to hang some big pieces of fleece on the walls for extra climbing areas, but it works and hey...the little fur gang don't complain LOL

just to update: tonight i basically let Spud do what he wanted as far as play, i kept a very close eye on him and actually let him jump around a bit. he seemed like he had fun and i was laughing at him alot. He first just started out jumping between me and my fiance as we sat at our computer desks (yes, we have seperate computers, lol we dont share well) and then he started to get a little more daring and started jumping into laundry baskets! I took alot of pictures, and i posted some below! thank you for all of your help. I Also got his nails trimed with the help Zack (my fiance), and that helped alot with playtime, because he wasnt hurting me with them! I do plan on getting a tent for him, but until then, i think this will work. Thanks for the advice, and any more help you want to offer such as good toys, (preferably ones i can make at home!) would be cool, i really appreciate how helpful everyone is! i couldnt get the images to resize. sorry for the bigness

after he continuously kept jumping to the basket and burowing into the clothes, i assumed he was cold and wrapped him up in his blankie that i keep in his cage. He is now snuggled up sleeping.
