Hey everyone I finially got my package in the mail. Off ebay I bought this coconut hut gizmo, its two huts connected by a ladder. I went ahead took the clips off and nuked it in the microwave for a few seconds and then washed it off with water. The ladder is made out of beads and wood (which two of the wood pieces are dyed). This was made by the person that sold it on ebay and they were selling other animal toys etc.
Some of the dye was coming off on my hand after I got it wet. My question is if there is anything else I should be looking for that could be hazardous to my babies or that I should do to ensure that it is clean and not harmful to them? Maybe I am a little over worried.
Any comments or help would be great! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />
Thank you all
Jason

I can't say exactly- but the die coloring coming off would concern me. I know to watch for coloring coming off when using atificial greenery, so I think this would fall into that.

just think that wood would get wet when they potty & then it could transfer to their feet and on & on.

Hope someone gives you a definate answer- maybe if you change your title to coloring transfer concerns- you'll get more hits?

If its been dyed with pet safe dye, it would be fine... Any bird toy you buy from the pet store that has colored wood will "bleed" when being soaked. All my once vibrant and pretty bird toys are a very muted pastel now... lol
