I'm a new glider mom, and paranoid about putting anything in the cage that I don't know is safe. I've seen cages with ropes hanging in them. Is nylon rope safe to use, or should I get another type of rope?

Something is coming to my mind that nylon is not good to use, but I cannot for the life of me remember why. (hate when that happens.) Cotton rope is ok...or using fleece ropes is another alternative .

Nylon rope won't give if they get their toenails caught in the strands. Also their whole toe can slide through the strands and get caught. That stuff just doesn't give at all! I use it in the playroom for suprvised play and that's all. I don't use anything but cotton rope in the cages for climbing. Sisal is ok for climbing, the fibers will tear, but cotton or fleece is the best.

It's alright Karin, we understand....
