I pressure wash all my cages, along with simple green. Then daily the cages are wiped down with clorox wipes. I also use aspen bedding and that helps a bunch with keeping the smell relatively low. With 30 gliders in one room you can only go so far with keeping the smell down. I have heard from many people that PureAyre from Suncoast is a really great product. Also if you are not breeding a good food additive would be Elimina. Sheila from ToandFro gliders sells it.
Hope this helps.

Agilitygliders, do you rinse the cage down after using the clorox wipes?

I use vinegar and water to clean my cges every two weeks. In between major cleans I wipe daily with Clorox wipes. I don't wash after using the wipes but some do as a precautionary method. I personally have never had a problem, but I use them early in the morning when there is planty of time in between cleanings and when my gliders get up.
Also, there will always be some smell to the gliders (especially if you have a mature, intact male). And excessive cleaning can cause them to smell more. You can also try an air purifier in the room and make sure the room gets plenty of ventilation/good air circulation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />

I have never had a problem using a power washer. Neither have Lisa, Sheila, or Priscilla. We all power wash our cages. No I do not rinse after clorox wipes. I do it early in the day so that it dries by the time my gliders get up.

I wash my cages down with the vinegar and water weekly. I also have a air purifier in the same room with my gliders. Not only does the purifier cut down on smells, it also takes the dust and other airborne matter out of the air around them. I usually leave the pouch they had been using, after the cage cleaning just to leave their scent in the cage for them. This way my males don't tend to over mark the cage. It's safe thing to do in my opinion. Cy

It may also be due to overcleaning the cages, if the cages, toys or pouches are cleaned to often, your gliders will overmark as they love the smell of themselves. As for cleaning, I used to pressure wash mine (before they became floor to ceiling cages), now I just use a steamer once every other week and clorox cleanups on a daily basis. Make sure all the foods and such are cleaned up daily and the tray is cleaned out daily and that will help as well. If your gliders are at breeding age, that will also increase the *smell*, so if you have a male and are not planning on breeding, neutering is a good option.
