I am getting some gliders that are on the Pricilla diet and I would like some feed back from those who feed it as for the preparations.

It calls for concentrated OJ with calcium, am I correct in thinking this is the frozen concentrate? Do I need to thaw it out first or just scoop the frozen stuff into the mixture?

When you divide the mix and add eggs to one and chicken to the other, do you just alternate which one you serve? Or do you serve the egg on the mealworm days and the chicken on the other days? What size mealworms are they talking about? 20 per glider of the giant would be a huge amount but 20 of the small hardly wets the appetite. Do you feed mealworms in the morning or along with dinner?

Is the powdered gatorade a must or can we use gliderade or nectar? It calls for fruit flavored gatorade, is that any flavor, even some of the new ones out?

Thank you for your time and information.

Hi,
I use her diet, and love it. If you are unsure you can always contact her directly. She is awesome and is always willing to answer questions, plus if you plan on keeping your gliders on her diet you will need to buy supplies from her.

Here is what I do:I let the oj concentrate sit out a bit, you do not use the whole thing. I mix all, then seperate, one with meat and one with egg.
I use an ice cube tray to freeze the food, then put the cubes into freexer bags labled with date and contents.
I give mealies as treats, not always with dinner.
As far as the powdered gatorade, I still use gliderade 'cause that is what I had. However the gliderade I had is mostly like a tang powdered drink.

I hope this helps, please PM if you have more questions.

Robin

I also use Pricilla Price's diet, and my Suggies prefer it over the Bml. I buy the orange juice already made "from Concentrate". I use the calcium fortified, and it works just as well as frozen. I get my calcium also. I can't get my Suggies to take the gatorade at all. I do use gliderade.

I alternate egg mix one day, chicken mix the next. Don't forget to mix in your fruit and veggies with the mix. It took me about 4 months to figure this one out. I could not figure out why my little ones were not eating the fruit and veggies until I asked Pricilla. I give the medium mealies because the giants will bite the Suggies. I only give them in the morning so they eat all the "good for them" food at night.

Hollyjean: already made oj from concentrate is not really the same as the stuff in the can. They add water to it to make OJ drink. So really you are diluting the concentrate.

The OJ is supposed to be concentrated, the frozen kind. I do not thaw it out, but I put everything in the blender. It will not make a difference thawed or frozen. I also use glideraid

Cathy, from Holly's post it sounds like she uses OJ from the carton (made from concentrate). What I was trying to say is that she needs to use the frozen concentrate from the can. The drink is just the concentrate plus water.

I use the PP diet as well and do not mix egg or chicken in the batch. I actually prefer to make it separate from the mix in the case I want to switch up the protein they eat every night. For example: I feed the PP mix and 10 mealies per glider one night, PP mix and scrambled egg another and PP mix and babyfood another, etc. Of course this is accompanied by the fresh fruits and veggies everyday.

I do not use the Gatorade, but I do use the Gliderade. Remember to def. get the Pet Glider Complete supplements b/c that is what makes the PP diet complete.

Mine love their PP diet and every lick is gone in the morning. I especially love how it helps them eat their veggies. Good luck!

PS: Yes, frozen OJ and no you do not have to thaw it. It's mushy out of the freezer.

I sell the vitamins and I am in Florida so if you need the Pet Glider Vitamin you can just come and pick them up. I live near Orlando. I also have the monkey bisciut and the glider cereal. All 31 of my gliders are on this diet and I have gliders from Pricsilla and they are just so healthy are beautiful. My gliders never reject the food at all. Its a wonderful diet plan. I add the Calcium Enriched Cannned OJ that is concentrated. DO NOT USE THE ONE FROM THE CARTON! Its not the same thing. Follow the diet as exact as possible. No changing.

I'm getting some beautiful gliders from Pricilla and have asked her about 900 questions already and thought I would ask about the diet here to give her a break and get some ideas, as I know several of you here feed her diet. I've already ordered the Nutritional package from her.

On the veggies and fruit added to the mix, do you add them diced or do some of you put them in the blender to puree them into the mix?

Is it the same measurement for feeding as the BML? 1 TBS per glider?

To vary the protien can I use those canned bugs? Like canned crickets, grasshoppers and such in place of the shreded chicken? Or is this a question I should ask her?

Way off topic... can gliders have soymilk or rice milk?

I just cut mine up, I wouldnt blend it just becauase I think the gliders enjoy eating it more in chunks.

As far as measurment I was told 2-3Tbs per glider. But really its your judgement on how much you think they eat.

I would not take out any part of the recipe. I think it might be fine to alternate the canned bugs with the mealworms on the mealie nights tho.

I don't take anything out of the recipe. Mine hate chicken so I just add it fresh on top of the mix. That way I know they eat it when it's nice and warm for them.

Also, if you freeze it for too long, the chicken gets freezer burn. LOL

I just put it all in a bowl and mash it all around and then split them into 2-1 gallon sized zipper bags and let it lay flat on the counter. I measure it at about 1/2" when laying flat and then place it flat in the freezer. It's easier to break it up in the bag than it is to scoop it in a tupperware bowl which I realized after 2 mixes. hahaha You have no idea how many spoons I bent. hahahahaha

Good luck!

THANKS Everyone!. I have STILL been using the wrong juice. Sometimes these recipes do confuse me. No more premixed for us. Just to clear it up, i mix the frozen in the staple?
