So here is the question......I have the opportunity to take a long road trip (3 weeks) and was wondering has anyone done this with their gliders. I would be in a camper van so space isn't an issue. If you have, were you able to use those travel cages or did you go to a small rep? There is a fridge/ice box so the food isn't an issue. What else am I forgetting? Hoping for some ideas here.....thanks in advance

I will probably not be using the propane for cooking (although there is a propane stove)......Once I start to get things in place, I will be mapping it out and planning stops/ vets/glider people??? along the way

My suggies travel really well. We have a camper about 1 1/2 hours away and we take them every time we go. They do really well. We had to leave them at home with my Son when we went to Africa for 10 days. I missed them so much.

I have been on the road and away from home for the last 7 weeks. Molly on this list lent me a 265 gal (I think that is the size) rep cage. I put their travel cage inside of it. During the day they are in their travel cage (this is the large house shaped cage from the pet store). In the evening when I am home, I let them loose inside the rep cage overnight. This way I do not feel so guilty about lack of playtime with them as I can sit at the cage and talk to them...I take daytime naps with them as I can. Anyway, I love the cage and shall probably buy it for my 3 gliders.
Have you considered heat/cold in the camper? Where in TX are you going?

I'm going to go south early in the trip to get away from the snow here and someone suggested making sure I have blankets to cover the cage with while traveling....hopefully, most stops will be in pet friendly motels and have a pop-up screen tent for play-time....going to dallas and then the SGR and then over to New mexico to meet with family

Jan Michelle - I am now in East Patchogue but was in Amityville and East Meadow......how about you???
Jeannine - you know you are more than welcome.....you could always hitch a ride and fly back before he gets too antsy......lol
Cora - can't wait to meet everyone and am hoping I can pull this whole thing together.....I think road-tripping would be a blast

still in need of opinions of what to do for travel cages.....I am thinking that the pop-up type are probably not sufficient for multiple nights (even with time out in the pop up screen room).....do the reps, dis-assemble easily or should I plan on just building a travel cage out of pvc and landware ????
