I've been looking around a bit - but I haven't seen if Christmas Trees are toxic for Sugar Gliders or not?

According to one list I have, only spruce was listed and the sap has oxalates that are like tiny needles and can irritate the mouth & throat. So, I wouldn't chance it. Maybe someone has more info?

I'm looking to get a real tree ( I love them!)
It won't be by the sugar gliders - especially not in their cage...
But in case they get free one night I just want to make sure that it was not toxic for them =)
Thanks guys!! =)

Someone please tell me I'm not risking my babies lives-I left the tree up til February last year after I took off all the decor cause a couple of my tamest gliders have a blast playing in there. It is artificial and I take off all the decorations/lights n such before I let them have it for a playground in January.

I called the place that I am getting my tree from - they said they carry Balsum (sp) and Frasier Firs...some Spruce and Pine as well - I'm more curious if the Balsum and Frasier Firs are toxic or not...

Evergreens all have very similar characteristics. Spruce and Pines are in the same family and we KNOW Pine is highly toxic, so Christmas trees really are a no no.
