I've been doing some research on how big I should build my 3 suggies cage. I found out that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has a set regulation size. For 2 gliders 4'x4'x4' (LxWxH). For each additional glider you must increase the floor size by 25% of the original. So, for my 3rd glider, you would take 25%x16'x1=4', then take 4'+16'=20sqft. I would need to build a cage that is 4'x5'x4'!!! I better get building

My pet store is in trouble now. They are keeping 2 sugies in a cage that is about 1'x2'x1'. I am going to try and talk to them but if my mom will help I'll try and get the suggies out of that situation. Melissa laura

I sure hope you can get them out of that situation!!! Are they even feeding them the right variety of food? Heres the link to the cage size. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission -cage size When you get there, just click on edit, find on this page sugar glider, so you don't have to search the whole thing. Maybe you can show this to the pet shop and they'll give them up or you can just pay a little for them. I'm looking to see if pet shops can hold them in smaller cages for certain periods of time. If I find this I'll let u know.

While FFW does require that size cage, I can promise you that there are VERY few people who actually meet that standard.
I do think it would be fantastic if all gliders have cages that large, but sometimes it is just not realistic.
