I was looking for wiffle balls (thanks guys) but didn't find them.. instead I found gold practice balls.. like mini wiffle balls- holes too small for straws.. so next step- waht to put through that would stay... I used strips of fleece... Happosai has already pulled them out of 2 balls.. the girls haven't found theirs yet.. and I refilled the first one he emptied... I did get a few pics but those aren't off the camera yet though I will post some of the pics Bill took last night over in glider talk...

yes golf- argh.. typo.. Bill asking me to do things while I was posting here... both sets of gliders pulled all the fleece strips out but I took a spare yarn needle with a strip of ribbon through it to feed the fleece through with and the one I refilled still only took about 2 minutes.. they loved them!

Oh goodie....great idea and another toy for more fun . Lily is still loving the straw/whiffle ball...every morning those straws are everywhere! Now we can add fleece everywhere too .

Don't worry about it- I modified what I was doing tonight anyway... Bill suggested using one long piece of fleece and knotting the ends.. I am not hanging these at all, just placing them in the cage.. we have some high corner hammocks and I put one up there in each cage, but for the girls I didn't get it there.. Ukyo took it out of my hand and spent about 5 minutes trying to get any piece fo fleece out then her sister tried as well but succeeding in dropping it to the bottom of the cage.. they played there too.. the boys had destroyed the one like last nights I had put in earlier but were busy doing other things when I put the new ones in and Ihaven't seen them play with it yet.

Those toys sound great. Do you have any pictures that would help me make some?

I'd be wary with chenille- it has mutliple strands or threads and would be easy to get claws and toes snagged in..

Mealies - ugh! I had to cut them in half and put in a dish to get mine to like the mealies at first.
