I have twin girls and their genetics already have Eileen, Ethan, Mickey and Minnie. I want to be improving genetics in the leu line so I need to find clean pairings for my leu and 100% leu het girlies. Their genetics can be seen at mysugarhigh.blogspot.com Malta and Bialla out of Twink and Traleika. I'd really appreciate some professional input from a number of sources. Mac and Cheese lines were the opinion of one reputable breeder.

If you want to improve the lines, you should breed out with non-leu line mates. There is no way to truly "improve" the lines by only breeding leus and leu hets- there has to be some normal blood introduced. Are you intending to set up a trio, or two pairs?
I went and looked at the lines, and honestly IMO you should not even consider a leu-line mate for either of them. Those girls are out of a uncle/niece pairing, with the common ancestor of their father and grandfather being from a brother/sister pairing- that's really bad. That is a LOT of inbreeding in one pedigree! Even breeding out to normals is like throwing a bucket of water on a wildfire.
I didn't look at the pedigree, but I'm taking Helen's word. If they're that inbred, there is no way you should consider breeding them if you want to improve the leucistic lines.
Wouldn't a moscaic or white variation from NON-sterile lines be okay too?

I am getting a leu from babydevilsangel whenever the weather will allow! I already have a little girl who I was told was a WFB from one of KDR's lines. She is very light and looks like a platinum/champagne color to me when I compare with pictures I've seen. Would this be a good pairing? Not till next Fall of course.

All the leus carry some amount of inbreeding. To say "they are inbred they shouldn't be bred further" is not possible at all to those breeding leus.
They should be bred OUT - with a clean WF or a normal.
Many (most?) Mosaics have similar lineage ... so that might not help you? It depends on the specific mosaic.
I'm not a leu breeder, but there are many around with good heads on their shoulders! Hopefully you'll continue to get good input!

They do? Did not know that. I don't really look at pedigrees, but from the way it's stated, it sounds like a lot of inbreeding. (The reason I don't look at pedigrees is because 1. They confuse me, and 2. I don't plan on breeding.)
Please keep the input coming as this is all very interesting to me. I am not overly concerned with being able to breed these two, as they are my first suggies, I knew they had been linebred/inbred but most in the lue lines had been to some extent that I have seen. So please I welcome all opinions on this subject, outbreeding was the route I would take if I decided that they were to be paired and I would keep their first sets of babies to myself anyhow, untill I had diluted the inbreeding problem/situation with fresh gene pools. I will probably look at adopting a few females (not so closely related) from other breeders as well. I love sugar glider and only want to do the best for the overall outlook.

THANK YOU for being so responsible with these gliders and breeding for what is best for gliders genetically rather than what will produce the most leus. Sometimes we see breeding practices that are simply aimed at cranking out as many leus as possible with little to no regard for the animal's health, temperament, and genetics. It's really great to see someone taking this into so much consideration

I do have more pictures of her on my office computer, but it's really hard to see in the pix. She is striking and very unique in person. Heres one of her and one of him:

I was hoping Blizzard would be home by now! *sniff* Darn weather!!
I've found a couple of gliders I'm looking at, one is a WFB and one is a white variation, it will be awhile before I get a hopeful mate for Abraham though. I just want to make sure his lines don't cross anywhere with her lines...
I'm going to only look for a glider that doesn't contain any of his ancestory names in hers and is ONLY from NON-sterile lines.

I can't wait to see him in person myself!!!! But with a temp of 12, a wind chill of 4 and at least a foot of snow!! I'd rather be safe that sorry and wait for him to make the trip from Utah to Michigan. I was hoping someone would be coming this way for Christmas but nope.

Okay... I feel REALLY lucky. The coldest it's been here so far is 40, I think! Okay. I am a wuss. It'll be 65 out and I'll be bundled up in a jacket freezing my butt off!
Awwwww!! I would wait till this mess is all clear too! I'd be terrified of him flying till it's at least 50's!
