My dad just built me a cage its 6ft high 3ft wide and 2ft deep. I was just wondering if its big enough for two gliders, maybe three in a couple months...and it also has a divider down the middle where i can separate it into two cages if i ever needed to keep them apart.....will this cage be suitable.? thanks..

The size of the cage your dad built is great!!! I have two cages in that size and the gliders love them! Such a roomy cage, plenty of room for them to play, run, hop, jump, do whatever their hearts desire! Your gliders are going to be on Cloud Nine! They are going to love you!

Oh yes, you have a palace there for those guys, they`re gonna just love it! I want to add on to mine, it`s about 5 ft tall, 30 wide and 18 deep. I`m jealous lol

Thats plenty big enough.

Once our new house is completed I'm going to build a giant playtime cage about 6.5' - 7' tall, 8' wide, and at least 4' deep, with a door on it big enough for me to walk into the cage and sit with them (prolly keep a chair inside the cage). I will use this for playtime with the gliders. I also may build each of the gliders a large cage about half that size (1/2*width, 1/2*depth, same height) for their homes.

Wow! Nice. I'd love to see a pic. I think you'd have some happy gliders in there!

Gliderenvy, the cage you listed is plenty big for a pair of gliders.

I have one like it, but it has 5/8 inch bar spacing and I have 3 gliders in it. They love it. I have to use wooden clothes pins to hold the feeding and big doors closed. They are little escape artists. I am not able to attach a picture of mine, but if you want you can PM me your email and I can send you one. Also just some info, I got mine on EBay also and they have more listed. Here is the link:

They only sell in lots of 3, but for about the same money you could have an extra cage for future glider introductions or cleaning days and sell one. Just a thought. Congrats on getting your new one soon and welcome to "Glider Addiction"

Good Morning!
I just ordered my cages from Ebay, Demsonds Pet, they should be here next week........I HOPE since mine are coming on the 10th lol
I had originally bought the 4 cage deal 30 x 18 x 35 and had paid them for these cages......later that day I got to looking more at the other deal......3 cages 30 x 18 x 55 for $18 more so my husband said to see if I could get the package changed, I wrote them and they were very good and sent me a paypal bill for the difference! total was $139.99 for the 3 cages and that includes the shipping.....so I thought it was a good deal Aslong as the suggies are safe and happy then it is a great deal!!

I really like the ones I got from him. Like I said though, the cage doors open easily so you have to put something on them to keep them closed. I tried several things but the easiest I found to get in and out quick and easy were the wooden clothes pins. I got 50 for a couple bucks at walmart and now I use them for everything. Even have the Wodent Wheel clipped to the cage with one on the outside haha. Congrats again on the new family member.

I have those same cages and they have a bunch of little doors on them as well as the large doors. I took zip ties and secured the little doors closed. Also, when you get the cages, I suggest using zip ties to put them together instead of bending the metal hooks to secure it. Two reasons. One, bending the metal runs the risk of cracking the coating and causing a potential rust spot. Two, with the zip ties, if you ever have to move the cage, you can just cut the ties and take it apart.
Tip..When using zip ties, after you trim them off, use a lighter and lightly burn the end of the tie so it isn't sharp. I have never had a glider get hurt on the zip ties but I sure have gotten some nasty scratches on my arms from them.

Oh, and those cages can easily be hooked together to make an even larger cage. Just leave off either side panels or the backs and hook them together with the zip ties.

Dancing, great tip on the zip ties. Hubby has a bunch in the garage, I use the little doors for the food dishes so I need to get in and out of them daily, but am going to put the zip ties where the metal clips are. It will make it feel more secure when I move it into the bathtub for cleaning.
