My babies lick all of the HPW right up, but are picky about their fruits and veggies. Can I puree fresh fruits and vegetables and mix it in with the HPW? I think they should be ok because it's frozen. A batch of HPW lasts me about a month. If I'm wrong, please let me know. Thanks!

I don't think it would hurt, since it the same stuff. BUT - I would personally just mix the fruit in after it defrosts, not make it with it just in case.

My guys won't eat fruit at all any more, though I offer it. grin

Some of my babies will eat anything then there are those that are pretty picky on their fruits and veggies. I have a couple that REFUSE to eat frozen fruit.... I make sure I feed fresh as much as possible. If it is something that has been picked "green" then shipped, they don't eat as much of it. We have fruit trees and raise a garden with the things they like. I also try to not feed the same thing two nights in a row. It works out well because it is all healthy for my kids and gliders.

My kids get tired of stuff too. I try to vary their fruits, but stick to mainly the frozen mixed veggies. They all have their individual likes an dislikes. One cage won't touch carrots, the other won't touch green beans. Picky little buggers. They like some fruits, papayas are their favorite but they won't touch bananas. Avocados are a good one too, but they are just so expensive. I haven't messed with the HPW other than boosting up the HPW powder for my little mommy. They all get the boosted HPW, and are all thriving and getting fluffy, even my super-picky eater is now eating the HPW really well.

So does anyone on here puree their fruits and veggies and add that to their batch of HPW? I don't eat fruit that much and it seems to go bad before I can use all of it. So I think it will make it a lot easier to just buy it once a month and freeze it and add it to HPW.

I wouldn't add it to the HPW, but you could make a smoothie out of it and put it in an ice cube tray to freeze. Then once frozen, pop out the cubes and store in a zip lok bag and serve whenever. That way the fruit doesn't go bad on ya

Pogo is a little piggy. Lilly on the other hand won't eat any fruits and veggies. I mean any. So I had to get creative. I always put her fruits in after I eat dinner, as that is normally when she starts coming out. Then I wait until around 11 or 12 to give her the HPW. I tried a fruit and veggie smoothie. My mom loved it. Lilly hated it. I put the HPW over her fruits. Lilly hated it. I put the smoothie in her HPW. Lilly hated it.

Waiting to put the HPW in seems to work though. She gets hungry and will eat the fruit because that is what is there. I also supplement her with glider-ade to make sure she's getting calcium, whether she eats her fruits and veggies or not.

Why wouldn't you add it to the HPW?

It might get nasty and throw the HPW off if you mix it in with the HPW and freeze it. =X (ex: the juices/liquids the fruit makes when mashed up, can't get a correct 1 tbsp HPW/2 gliders, 2 tbsp fruit, 2 tbsp veggies, etc.)

Have you tried serving the fruit, veggies, and HPW in the same dish? Or, drizzle their HPW over the fruit and veggies? Seems to work with mine if they don't like what I'm trying to give them. :3 I have my fruits pureed and frozen into ice cube trays and the same with my veggies but, my kids won't touch strawberries! I found out that if I can mask it with other stuff, they'll eat it up like it's the best thing in the world. Like, I have some of their favorite fruits mixed into their fruit mash along with a little of the disliked stuff and then a little diluted apple juice.

Just realized that you said a batch lasts a month! Do you have 2 gliders? If so, a batch should last you 2 months and a couple weeks. They probably aren't eating the fruits and veggies because you're overfeeding them.

I have 2 gliders. I serve fruits and veggies with HPW mixed in. According to the HPW recipe, I mix 2 teaspoons of HPW with their fruits and veggies.

It should be 1 1/2 teaspoons of HPW per glider, and 1 tablespoon per glider of fruit and 1 tablespoon per glider of veggies.

I would suggest making the fruit smoothie and veggie relish. Freeze them separately, then put them all together in one bowl with the HPW and see what happens.
