Hi everyone I doubt anyone remembers me I Havent been posting for ages.
Anyway, my glider pair who reached sexual maturity about a month ago - I think have a joey on the way.
Brandy (the female) was on the side of the cage 2 nights ago, when she stretches out her pouch opens slightly - I saw a tiny pink bump when it opened this time which I thought could be a joey? Im not really sure but I checked again the next night and it was there again. It looks like it could be the back of a joey, when I look closely it looks like there could be a little tiny arm aswell. I dont know whether this could be a joey or not though. What does everyone think?
Thanks.

Do you see a lump? is her belly around her pouch darker? It is hard to tell without a picture. You could also be seeing her nipples if she is that relaxed and her pouch is open that big. Best thing to do is to hold her and rub her belly and see if you feel a lump there. just dont rub too hard.

Is there any way you could post a pic?

BTW, welcome back

I dont want to panic her though and if she has got a joey I dont want to risk hurting it. I just went and checked on her I cant see anything now but they were amting around 2/3 weeks ago and recently she has been hissing or barking alot. She is eating alot too so Im not sure. There is the slightest of bumps which could just be where her fur is ruffled but I have never seen the little pink bit before when she stretched which is why I think its a joey. Im just going to have to wait and see unfortunately <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Thanks.

I just checked again and her fur is darker around the pouch opening. What I thought was a joey was around 6mm in length and around 2 mm wide if thats any help to deciding if she has a joey?
Thanks again.

[:"green"]Based on the size, I don't think you are seeing a joey - it is probably one of her teats. Gliders have 4 teats inside their pouch. Newborn joeys usually attach to one of the lower teats and stay there for the first 8 weeks. A newborn joey is usually about 1 cm long and about 1/2 cm wide. It is entirely possible that she does have a joey in pouch, but that is not what you are seeing at this point.
