I have a male glider who was by himself for a little. He was never neutered. I recently just got another glider, a female. Since I've had her I have noticed that he is biting fabric more, marking more and his scent gland on the top of his head has become red. At first I thought it was just him being overly excited about having a female companion. However, lately it has become redder and there seems to be either dried blood or something dried thathas began to crust over it. He hasn't had any change in his behavior. I am just worried and don't know if this is ok. Should I be taking him to the vet?

sounds like someone is showing he is the man of the house!! All this sounds very normal if you just brought another glider in the house. There are times that they rub their head so much they will have scabs come on top. They will bite on more things due to having scent glands also in their mouths. Are you planning on putting the two of them together? As stated, all sounds very normal. He is just trying to get his aroma spread around the room a bit!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I am so happy that its just him being manly! I'm also relieved the two of them like each other so much...they're in love!! I have them in the same cage, they are very cuddly with each other.
