I have a bird cage very big one at that anyways should i place the flece in the tray or in the bottom of the cage? ONly reason is I have noitced that he has to walk on the bars on the bottom of the cage and if I had the flece in the bottom he wouldn't have to walk on that. But then he would be walking on his on poo if I didn't get in there in time to clean it out. Just trying to weigh my options.

Stephen

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />Hi steve
My cage has bars on the bottom and my kids don't seem to be bugged by it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" /> cause they really don't stay and walk around on the bottom of the cage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/littleglider.gif" alt="" /> they like to stay high up they feel safer. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" /> so i think you will be fine with the bars. with the flece your not only worrying about his poo, but his urine your going to have to worry about. and that will really smell. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worried2.gif" alt="" /> but i hope that helps. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yelclap.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" /> wishin you luck!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Yea I was just afraid of him walking through his own poo and urine. He doesn't stink well that's because I clean his cage at least once a week and I take a qtip and with soap and water make sure his scent glands are clean of the smell. He has gotten used to me doing this. I hope it's not hurting him but I just don't like him to stink and when I do this once a week I can barely smell him.

I think newspaper or paper towls work better, and will be less expensive. but definatley put it under the grate.

Lol, I know this sounds really weird, but I use plain white paper underneath my grate, and I noticed it actually smells less than when I was using puppy pads. Of course it could be the type of puppy pads I bought <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" /> But I noticed that it doesn't hold in the wet smell of urine, and I can easily see their droppings to make sure they're normal.
Plus I have two females, so they smell less than the males. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
If you use newspaper, I'd put it under the grate because the ink can harm your little guy.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I've never heard of cleaning the males scent glands?? I know that www.sugar-gliders.com sells Glider Shampoo and Glider Glo conditioner.
Hope this helps. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />hi steve
if you are worried about him stink. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" />what do you have on the bottom of his cage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinkerg.gif" alt="" /> like you know newpaper or paper towel. but you should try useing Carefresh pet bedding. i use it and it works really well. it helps with smell really well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" /> and its glider safe. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/gliderangel.gif" alt="" /> i use it all the time. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yelclap.gif" alt="" /> you can usually get it at a pet store. but if not exoticnutrition.com has it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" /> good luck <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/multi.gif" alt="" />
