Ok, well I recently was told something peculiar that really caught my attention (almost struck a nerve), and I'm sure after you take this poll, you may find you may have come across the rumour/allegation/claim/speculation (whatever you want to call it) yourself.

So I've wanted to (for quite some time now) finally take action and find out myself what the trend is from mass GC member feedback, namely the breeders of GC.

It's a simple few question poll aimed at determining if there is a trend with regards to joey rejection/mutilation and diet.

Breeding is certainly something that I may have to look into sometime in the future and I'd like to clarify any rumours from fact if possible.

So, here it is. I've decided to make it a poll so to protect the anonymity of names and breeders.

IMPORTANT: For those of you with more than one breeding pair please take the time to fill out the short poll FOR EACH BREEDING PAIR YOU OWN. Those with many breeding pairs should try to fill out the poll for as many of your glider pairs as you can. It only improves the accuracy of the poll results. Be sure to read each question (and instruction) carefully!

DO NOT TAKE THIS POLL IF YOUR GLIDERS HAVE NOT BRED, AND BY BREEDING I MEAN YOU HAVE SEEN THE PEANUTS IN OR THROUGH THE POUCH AT SOME POINT AND WERE INDEED SURE THAT THE FEMALE HAD GIVEN BIRTH.

GO HERE and enter survey number 34662 in the TAKE A SURVEY box!

[:"green"]Mikey,
I can't answer Question 4 because I don't have an opinion about whether a specific diet affects joey rejection or not... I do feel that lack of enough protein in a diet can affect it... Maybe another option or two need to be added to that question... However, I did complete the rest of the survey.

[:"green"]Mikey,
It won't allow me to complete the survey more than once... I have had a total of 6 breeding females, but could only enter the information for one of them...

OK guys! Take the survey. I think I fixed it and reworded some things. Let me know if there are any problems!

1 thing I did notice is that on the 3rd or 4th question... the one where it asks something like How many Times have the parents rejected/canaba/mutlilated since the first one.

You need to have an option for "none, nada, zero zilch!" as well as all your other options

Another thought but I don't know if it would help or not. What about the parents who are starting to reject but the breeder realizes and helps supplement. For example... I have had a pair that I knew would of lost a twin but I fed the joey once in the morning and 2 times at nigh for about a weekt, but then mom did the rest of the work.... Where would this pair fit in? I haven't done them yet because I don't know what to put them as since she didn't fully reject, I know she would of but the joey is still alive.

LOL eeek. SO many particulars... See, this is why I do not breed! Ah I gotta hammer out that question regarding subsequent rejections too Sil, thanks! I don't know why i forgot to add it in this one!

Ah it wont let me edit it! Oh well! Since Question 3 was aimed at determining whether it was due to first-time parenting and this option is sorta covered in the last question (with the option "it involves other factors"), you can click the first option, and we can ignore the results of that question. Sheesh, it wont even let me delete!

Making these surveys is hard stuff.

And I just relaized that the results of question 4 are bad as well, because there is more wieght from people who have more breeding pairs, so we can ginore that question, too!

So, I guess it's a 2 question survey!
