A wheel is a must--I use the stealth wheel. I use links (baby links)--we gave up on the monkeys years ago. I got sick of picking them up every day (I have 7 cages). I have tons of fleece toys made by various vendors on the board...swings,perches...in the play room we have a huge fleece net hanging from our bed posts--it drapes over the bed. We have a lot of toys hanging from that, and then we have a huge jungle gym, with lots of toys hanging from it. Still, they love the curtains and dressers. They enjoy the other things, too. HTH

lets see... umm.. a pile of pouches they love to climb on and over in the storage cubbies... but really- anything they can climb on and investigate.. and ukyo loves pulling straws out of tight spaces... she had one in the wheel with her this morning when I got up... since I hadn't put them back in the straw holder and they were on the bottom of the cage last night that means she climbed all the way up there with it!

plastic links, bells, things to climb on (crocheted fleece ropes, tunnels, etc.. things to go into... they just have fun!

I always look at the dollar stores for Baby toys or Hanging bird toys (have to be careful with bird toys, know what it's made of and if it's safe for gliders) I'm always looking in the pet & baby areas in Walmart too- toys with loops large enough for them to easily fit through, vines with no wire. I have a thick rope that is a bird perch that I can attach to the bars of the cage in several different positions- I change it around weekly- I think that's the clue, you don't have to have a MILLION toys (even though it's hard NOT to) as long as you change what you have fairly often so they don't get bored. When I change their cages they will run and explore to see what I've done even if it's the middle of the day ("WHOOPIE WHAT'S MOM PUT IN HERE NOW!!!) You can add fleece to just about anything and you don't even need to know how to sew- just cut strips and tie them onto things. Shower curtain rings work great- Just get some dollar store baby toys, some clearance fleece from walmart with some shower curtain rings from the clearance isle and let your imagination do the rest!! Good Luck!

My kids LOVE the linked chain I made out of cable ties. I find mine crawling through them & trying to nab them with their tails. They then try to carry them back to their pouch to sleep with (??????) Seems like a hard bed to me, but so long as they enjoy it. It's funny tho to see them trying to pull the chain off it's hook once they've got it in their tails. They'll be pulling as hard as they can, and their tail slowly unkinks until the link slips free. Then they give it this disgusted look & go try again!
