I have a lamp used for a reptile cage. The bulb is called Exoterra Night Glow. Anyone know if this is a safe way to provide warmth? Also, do they need periods of total darkness? This lamp does provide a low-light purple glow.
Thanks

I just purchased a lamp also - "red heat lamp" that glows slightly red, and adds some warmth to their area. I'm curious to see how everyone responds. I was afraid of the space heater idea for fire hazard reasons, and thought this seemed safer.

I would go with a space heater as well. I used to work in a pet store and saw one to many times that the animal that had the heat lamp would accidentally splash water on the bulb and the bulb would explode into little shards. If your glider is in an inclosed cage (like a reptraium) then is should be ok but if they are in a cage with bars I personally would never use them.
