I've heard of some people using different kinds of long tubes that the gliders can crawl through, cutting holes here and there in it, and trailing it around through the cage for the gliders to hide and play in. Some people have said they use the tubing from off a dryer, but not sure if that's the best idea for these guys and was wondering if anyone knows where you can get tubing like this that is glider safe? It sounds like a great idea and something that they'd love, but I want to make sure that the material is safe for them in case they chew on it like they do with just about anything they can stick in their mouths. Thanks. Take care, AC

Alot of people use the pvc pipes...using the elbows to make the turns, etc. Never tried them yet myself, but sounds like fun! (and easy to clean <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/agree.gif" alt="" />) Karin

Yes, PVC works the best and the gliders seem to have endless fun running through and playing hide and seek. BE WARNED! I went with the much bigger sizes of PVC 2 and 3 inches and up just to be sure I could get to a glider if he didn't want to come out. By the time I picked out the pipe and angles I wanted to make them a tunnel track around the room I was over $100 in pvc! It adds up fast. But so worth seeing them enjoy it.

i saw one cage set up that had clear tubing around the room connecting two different cages. It seemed safe and isnt quite like the dryer tubing. Anyone know what kind of tubing im talking about. For some reason pvc seems dangerous. Not being able to see them or not being able to reach them.

PVC isn't all that bad. They're basically hard plastic tubes. I've also seen somewhere someone using fleece tubes. they made a tube and cut fringes on the ends and tied them to the cage or something. >^.^<

Those clear tubes might have been ferret tubes (habitrail tubes). That would be quite expensive too.

The gallery has been shut down for now, so they can't be accessed right now.

This is a kit and expensive, but wanted to show you. In the pic you will see straight tubing that should work. I know you can get that with out buying the kit. And you can find it at different websites, just saw that in one of my magazines from them.

Hi. Was just searching for new stuff for the gliders' cage and came across this - http://www.petcarecentral.com/sp-62244.html - which reminded me of this thread. Although I'm getting it off the (UK) ebay for the obvious, but I hunted it down for any Americans. I've been searching for ages for a good, safe, long tube they can mess about in, and no doubt get extremely mucky and smelly at the same time.

Hey, you may try here. http://www.martinscages.com/products/toys/They have a flexable clear plastic tube that extends to 20 feet in lenght and it is only 12 dollars! It is for Ferrets so I dont know if it is glider safe, but it seems like it would work.
