Hi Tommy~* You need to first make sure that there is nothing dangerous that Gizmo can get into.. make sure that there are no toilet seats up and that there are no cups/bowls of water anywhere... as gliders cannot swim. Once you have done that, since it is time for them to be awake you should place some food on a plate in the middle of the floor, turn out the lights, and sit quietly waiting for him. You will more than likely at least HEAR him... usually I find lost gliders in my closet. They will go where it is dark and warm.. best of luck.

ehh guys...still no sign of him....I'm pretty sad. I figure it's real small chance he got out of my room. And theres a big chance he's in my closet, it's pretty big but i went through most of it. i ripped apart every other part of my room. there's still a chance he's in there though, but usually when i go anywhere near him and his head is covered he crabbs, so it's unusual i can't see him. HELP, ANYONE! There's still a good chance he's in there right, even if he isn't crabbing and even if this is his time to be up. Thanks everyone.

just take a breath, sometimes you have to wait for him to come out. He may have found the one place you didn't see to take a nap in.

[:"green"]Since you know he hasn't been able to get out of the house, don't panic. He will show up!!! I have had more than one instance of glider escapes... If you have a surround-sound stereo, check the speakers. They are dark & warm & sometimes there's a small hole on the back of the smaller speakers that the glider can crawl into. My Bittah used to snuggle up in ours a lot! There is definitely a possibility that Gizmo is in your closet. Glider-proof your room/house as described by BadgersMommy above. Your glider will come out once he's hungry enough. Leave the cage door open & put a couple of pouches in "handy" spots to try to lure him. Keep us posted...

If you haven't found him yet, I'll share what has worked for me in the past. I sat down in one area and repeatedly tapped with my fingers on side of a cabinet. It appears curiosity of what the sound was drew him out to investigate. I still use this technique to get their attention when time to stop playing and come to me for bedtime.

Hey i hope you found your little critter! They can be little devils when they know they are on a jail break . Oh and i have every confidence they know we are looking for them and they are just hiding ... But to counter their little mischvious minds we took a page from pavlov. Everytime we feed Squeaky his mealworms we tap our hand or wrist area with two fingers... Soon he associated the tapping with mealies... So whenever he gets out and we lose him... We just turn the lights off.. usually turn the tv on with the volume off and start tapping away. He usually comes right away. Unless hes already full of mealies... which is why i try to feed him the wormies during and after play time. Hope this helps.

Oh and fyi... dont be sure just because the door is shut that the glider cant get out..... I used to let my babies run around the bedroom mostly unsupervised until one day I saw them squeeze their little furry but under the doorcrack. You need to look everywhere you can fit two fingers. well ... most everything ....

thanks all of you for helping me out, it's giving me the support to not give up. Haven't found him, but every once in a while I hear some noises. I don't know if they're just noises my mind is making because it's what I wanna hear or if it could be him. Thanks everyone, I'll keep everyone posted.

I've had this happen before to, and I've always found that they go in a place sooo obviouse you just don't look e.e. Gir was my escape artist and got out...But he hid in silly places like an empty coffee cup... I'd get so frustraited because I knew he was in the cage room, I just didn't know where so I grabed some dishes to take them down stairs to let the room get quiet and I picked up a coffee mug and there he was heh. I always put a towel under the door so they can't scoot under it, so if your POSSITIVE that he's in there and there is no way he ould have gotten out, just wait. Keep your door shut and when he wakes up he'll come out... If your not, hunt the house for warm places and cozy places... Dressers, drawers, baskets, towels...Shut the toilet lids too! And try not to do any laundry...Shake out your dirty laundry too, because if your like me, they are in an big pile in your room lol. When I had the glider room, I had a couch in it, and the first time Gir escaped, he took Gaz with him...I knew they were in my room because in that room, you cannot fit a peice of paper under the door and it hadn't been opened...I hunted all day and dusk rolled around and low and behold they had snuggled between the couch cushion and the side of the couch under some stuffed animals... I felt like a dope, but when ever they escaped, thats where they went. Gir would chew through the zip ties on his cage to open the door...smart little bugger I tell you.

Oh this is so like my babies. I "heard" soft sounds when Misu got out. I looked everyplace in the area I heard them but could not find her. Why cause she was a sleep in a box of zip lock baggies on top of the microwave! Then there were 2 others in a vase of fake flowers over the mantle, Zeus in the folded jeans on top of the hamper, Stitch in the couch, it happens just keep a close eye out and listen real close you should find him or he will find you. best wishes.

I have faith that you will find him... but you need to leave some food out because even if you don't see him I bet he is sneaking around somewhere.. and he has to be hungry. Also leave some pouches out.. he may just crawl into one!

i've lost track of a glider one time that caused a scare like this.
~turn off the lights (or use a really really low light)
~sit still and listen, hours if it takes that long
~keep your eyes averted up, not down - they don't tend to hang out on the floor for very long, this is the mistake i made. (I later found the culprit laughing and snickering at me from atop an open cabinet door - when i feared he was somewhere in the trash trying to digup goodies)
if you're still counting on him being in the same room it'll be easier. just make it dark and hold still.

He won't wake up till about ten most likely, he's a late sleeper. So I'll be wating up...theres this tiny little hole in my closet that he might have gone through which leads to under the house. thing is, he can't go anywhere under there. It's pretty much air tight sealed. I have a microphone hooked up done there streaming noises to my computer, I hear a few, but maybe theyre just family members walking around the house. I'm keeping pouches out though, for some reason i really don't think he went out there. Anyways, thanks everyone, ill keep updating.<3

Don't loose hope. I've had a few animals get loose for extended lenghts of time. The longest ever was a gecko I had that was loose for 6 months. I walked in my room one day to see him running up the wall... Don't loose hope, I'm sure you'll find him soon.

hey guys, it's been more than a day now. I really miss him...im pretty sad. I am really trying not to give up, I'm pretty hurt. I've looked EVERYWHERE. I have a cup of kool aid(he's crazy about kool aid, he always tries to drink mine) out that's about a centimeter deep so if he did find it he can't drown. I'm getting real sad, any last minute ideas. I haven't even heard a peep. anyone lost their glider for longer than a day?

Oh dear...did you check in all your drawers? ..under the bed up inside the box springs? inside shoes? pockets? on top of shelves...inside everything? (and under and in between?) Does your glider like meal worms? If so, I would put a rubbermaid type container out with LOTS of them in there ..mine can smell them across the room and go nuts. Look inside pillows, pillow cases too. They could literally hide anywhere. Someone here on GC found their missing glider a day later inside an old shoe. lol
I wish I could come look for you...I don't know what else to say..prayers going your way ..good luck! (((HUGS)))

I feel for you and I wish I could come to your house to help you look too!
Do you have any other pets that they could be hiding from? Or another glider they would come to?
I know one thing with my 4 gliders is when I am on the computer I go to the web sites that had audio of glider sounds and play them... My gliders always wake up and come to see who's there. It's a curiosity they can't resist.Give it a try. Just play it a few times over and over. Like the glider mom signing to babies or the bark one. I am sure someone here has the exact link for it; I can't see to find it right now. Hope it helps!

Can you have someone come over and sit in your room w/ you? Then start in one corner and go through absolutely everything, shoes, matress, everything that's been mentioned. If she sneaks out then your friend will see her if you don't. If you don't find her in there, then do the whole house. I know it's tedious but she has to be somewhere! Do you have food and water in other parts of the house incase she got out of your room? You're sure she didn't get outside? You can always put a cage and some pouches and food outside too if it's a possibility.
