Has anyone ever been allergic to gliders? My step son might have Pulmonary Fibrosis and if he does would we have to get rid of our gliders? His mom says we have to get rid of every animal in our house. cry

There have been cases of allergy unfortunately. But if you set up a seperate room for them, and don't let them or their hair come into contact with anythign your stepson comes into contact with it should be fine. UNLESS he has a reaction! Just remember that it will take months for all the animal residue to be totally gone from your house, even if you do get rid of all the animals. Their dander and hair gets into everything, even the ductwork.

I know my cats do shed alot and I already found homes for two of them had 5. I know we will have to get the vents cleaned out. I never thought that sugar gliders shed. I never have hair on me or anywhere in my room when they get out of cage time. He never touches them he is scared of them. And they are only allowed out in my bedroom.

Sugar gliders do shed their fur, it is just so fine and short that it is not noticeable. In some gliders you can actually see the shed progress (head to tail) as some will change colors slightly when the old fur is shed.

Because the health of a child is at risk, keeping them in the same house would not be advisable. If you don't move out all of the animals, she could say that he can't come to visit because his health would be at risk. dunno

If we never loved, then maybe we would never feel pain. Love anyway. It's worth it.

His mom has cats and dogs. We will find out this Thursday in Michigan if he has it or not. They are doing all kinds of tests to rule it out. We just do not know yet.
