I think I understand this correctly, they suggies need to be carried in a pouch as much as possible during the day, right? so, if it like using a sling for your child, where you can just go about your business and not worry about disturbing their rest? will they sleep the whole time, or will they want to play if I'm carrying them? Since they are twins (I'm looking to adopt twins from Dancing), will they need to share their pouch? Honestly, the more I read, the more I feel like I'm welcoming a new human baby in!! Many of the things we'll be doing for the suggies are things I did for my own twins! LOL, can you tell excited I am??

my first glider was never really hand tamed, she had three other homes before she came here unfortunately, and for the reason i have her is because they never had enough time for her. but when i tried bonding with her she'd always crab at me. anytime that i tried to take her out and put her pouch in between shirts so that she would get used to me, she'd wake up and crab and she'd never stay in there. I realized that she just doesn't like her pouch disturbed. now i just let her out of the cage to play. it didn't take long for her to get used to me that way, within days she was climbing on my legs, gliding to and from them, and just the other day when i bent over to pick up a treat she had dropped and couldn't find, she jumped to my arm and up my shoulder and to my back and then to the desk, it was a break through for her, she finally trusted me, and herself to climb closer to my face. she's a weird one but i love her. I'd say for you that as long as you're not being too physically active and just lounging around the house, maybe washing dishes, doing light housework, that'd be okay for the twins to get used to you, i don't recommend taking them outside to go shopping unless you're headed to the pet store to buy them some special treats or for a visit to the vet. my other sugar glider, the poor thing, isn't very active at all, and the best bonding i've done with her is while she is in her pouch. she enjoys being in her pouch and in a hooded sweatshirt pocket, and she loves to be talked to. Also, since i put my two gliders together, they always sleep together. The twins will probably do the same, and i'm sure it won't be a problem if you carry them both at the same time. So i hope anything i said was helpful, and goodluck with the twins!

I can put my gliders in a pouch and go about my day without problems. Fred and Ginger will get some extra pouch time over then next couple of weeks while we get things in place.

Yes, they are very much like children.

I usually have atleast one glider on me (sometimes in my bra) and I go everywhere with them (grocery store, pet stores, resturants, walmart). At first, I suggest just around the house until they become comfortable with being in a pouch on YOU. Then you can venture out with them. Always in a secured pouch.

In your bra?? LOL That's definitely up close and personal! I spend most of my time at home, so they'll have plenty of time to get used to me here.

Dancing, you shouldn't have told her about the bra part. She's going to think we're all nuts. Actually carrying them in your bra is a whole lot easier than having a pouch swinging around your neck. I can pretty much go anywhere this way and nobody ever knows I have them with me. Welcome to Glider Central Crystal.

I carry mine on me all the time too...from the day I got him. and yes in my bra or what really works good in a tank top with a shelf bra in it...he likes that the best.
I have only had Elvis for about a month and yesterday was the first time I let him play off of me. It was great! He glided to me for the first time and pretty much hated to be off of my body.
Although he is just learning to glide so his aim wasn't very good and he landed on my face lol.

Wolfe, don't assume his aim was off. We call those face hugs!

I just keep thinking there isn't room in my bra! I do wear shelf tanks a lot in the summer, so I'm sure they'll be chilling between the girls in there. Maybe I'll just stay in my robe all day, and let them hang out in the pockets.

I take Gizmo EVERYWHERE with me...we've gone everywhere from my doctor's office to fancy dinners to craft shows....as long as they get used to you, carrying them around with you is half the fun!

I love to carry my baby in my bra, everyone in my family thought that I was crazy at first, even my husband, but she looks so cute in there and I take her everywhere like that. She doesn't wake up at all so I am lucky. Everyone thinks it is cute to see her tail hanging out of my shirt, she doesn't make anymore noise so it is easier, soon I will have another to add to my bra, hope there is enough room

I have a one year old son who still wants to be picked up/held all time. Where do you recommend I carry my gliders? (I haven't gotten them yet!)

if i leave the house without a glider, it's because i'm doing something that could cause them harm (labor, etc). Otherwise if i don't grab em before I go, I'd feel like I left something important home ><

[:"green"]Gliders will basically sleep the entire time you carry them around with you. You can wake them up for treats and playtime some, but I always find that they just want to go back to sleep .

I never carry a regular purse (unless I'm wearing a dress without pockets) so everyone who knows me knows that if I have a "purse" that means I have at least one glider with me. You should see the looks I get when we travel & I have multiple glider pouches about my person... Two belt-pouches, two purse-pouches... and my husband has a couple on, too! People look at us like we've lost it!

momofthree,
If you can get your gliders to bra-train, that would be the best place to carry them & keep them from getting inadvertantly hurt by your one-year-old. I agree with everyone else, "bra babies" sounds wierd, but it's definitely a great place to carry & protect your gliders - very secretive, too.

So if you don't have a shelf bra on ...they will stay in the old cleavage? People crack up at me when they see or here boobs chatter! My husband loves it! We call him a boob baby

I have two gliders and one of them would be very easy to be a "bra baby" because she already likes going in my shirt. But my other glider is very active when he gets woken up. I was just curious how you can make them bra babies.

I used a shelf bra rather than a bonding pouch. And just always carried him there. Plus it was very cold outside so he could be warmer in my bra.

Yeah he never tried to get out. Matter of fact that is how I took him home. I was playing with him lastnight and zipped my sweatshirt up so he could get in my bra and he bit the zipper and was mad! LOL

Haha thats true. But I laughed when you say that there is only one way out cuz yesterday when Savannah (vey lovey will stay with me) was in my shirt she was like dove down my shirt then was walkin all over and it tickled really bad. But if you do wear a tanktop with the "shelf" thing then they couldnt get down. lol

They are. I want more too but I have my hands full with them. They love to go on top of their cage then jump ontop the blinds and mine are like cloth or something so they stay well. Then they jump on my bed. I also think that Savannah may have a joey so if she does then I will just keep that one.

So you let the two of your breed? That is what I want to do...My husband wants a girl. I don't let mine off of me. I started letting him play off of me in the bathroom but if I put him on the floor or counter he will jump back on me. I ride horses alot and I can't wait for the weather to get better so he can ride with me!

I ride horses too and I always wanted to take them with me but I was afraid to cuz I didnt know if it would like shake them up too much.

I think as long as he is in my bra he will be fine. What kind of "horse riding" do you do? My husband rides bulls and run barrels so he will be exposed to alot of rodeo activity.
