Serastes, I heard back from my friend in Baraboo just now. She called around for a glider-knowledgable vet in the Dells area and she was referred to the UW Veterinary Hospital and Clinic in Madison and their toll free number is 1-800-386-8684. Sorry there isn't one in your area!

Pix, thanks for the number and info, and thanks to everyone else as well for looking into it for me!

We've been here for over a month now, and WI's growing on me- it's such a gorgeous place to be! Really is a beautiful state, with such friendly people...

My husband moved here from Maryland a few years ago and he says the same thing, Serastes! He really loves it here and the people are much more friendly.

Glad you like it here in WI, Serastes! I was born and raised here in WI, and I love it here.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi to fellow Wisconsinites!! =)

I live in Twin Lakes, WI - a little town right on the border of Illinois. - Good to see that there are a few other people in my area!

I should have my new babies within the next couple of weeks!! - I've just been doing more and more research - and planning everything so everything is ready for when they come to their new home =) I'm so excited!

I think a get-together sounds like a neat idea! - I see that no one has posted in a while...did a get-together already happen?

Hi,

I live right at the IL/WI boarder just south of Pleasant Prairie and I wondered if any of you had any breeders you could recommend. There aren't any listed on this board's breeder list that are anywhere close to me. We would just be looking for a standard joey nothing fancy. But do want to make sure we buy ours from a good place that treats them well. Thanks for your help!

I'm from Milwaukee... Greenfield, to be exact.. (Though for anyone who knows Greenfield, that's far from exact.)

I'm also looking for some local (IL as well) breeders if anyone knows of some.

I know two pet stores that breed, though I don't know their lineage or trust theirs exactly.

Side note... anyone ever seen a glider with a shorter tail? It didn't look injured and was even slightly black tipped, this was at one of the pet stores I went to. (Was curious to see what they were breeding/charging. Would much rather adopt from someone's small family/home.)

But yeah.. Hello again. I'm Amber/Kozinu. My username is usually Kozinu but I'm using my first little suggie's name instead! laugh

It is great to see all of the glider slaves here in Wisconsin. Does anyone know if there are any events featuring gliders that are held locally? It would be great to meet some other glider lovers.

Watch the Special events forum. BeckiT will be hosting the Wisconsin Spring Social some time in April up in Kaukauna Wisconsin.

I host the Wisconsin Deer Hunters Widows Sugar Glider Get Away the opening day of deer hunting in Oregon, WI, just south of Madison.

Awesome, I am only about 20 mins. from Oregon. Unfortunately, on opening day of deer season, I will be in the woods, so unable to attend that day. Are there any other events held locally? I will be sure to watch that forum too. Thanks, Kaukauna is kind of a hike from here, but it would be worth it to meet some other glider people.

Yes, this is the second year we are having it. Last year we had a gift exchange, where everyone brings a gift suggie related and then we drew numbers to see who chose first then that person picked out a gift and so on.

We also made toys and there were some people vending suggie products like cage sets, pouches and so on.

Everyone brings a dish to pass for lunch. We had fun, just sitting around talking. Some of us even brought our gliders.

That sounds great. I have officially marked my calendar. I have been making a ton of toys, maybe I can bring some for the exchange. Food too. It will be great to meet other people who don't look at me like I have grown a third eye when I mention sugar glider.

Another question that I had was if you know of a good local vet for the gliders? The closest one I have found is in Sun Prairie.
