Has anyone ever made these for there gliders?
My two have decided they don't care for fruit so I thought I would try making smoothies by just blending different fruits together and maybe adding some acuca gum and or bee pollen.

sounds good to me - I will have to try that on my girls. They love everything (fruits, veggies, you name it), but I think they would like this too. I don't have any recipes, but what you said sounds good. Off topic kind of here - but wasn't someone making a sugar glider recipe book with smoothie recipes (as well as other recipes) in it?

My boy wont eat his veggies so i make a smothie with fruit and veggies and he loves it, and its easier than having to "frost" his veggies everynight with somthing new.

I put a few different fruits(usually frozen, but not always) like bluberries, Mango, papaya, apple, and then ad some veggies greenbeans, carrots, sweetpotato, whatever your gliders like. then add some fruit juice, or yogurt (and somtimes a little maybe a teaspoon of honey). I used to put it in my blender and mix it all up ,but i got myself a smoothie maker for x-mas so now i use that. then i pour the leftovers into icecube trays and serve later on in the week. <3 Amber

I got this recipe from SweetGliders, my suggie LOVES it! Doesn't want his veggies any other way.
VEGETABLE RELISH
1 - 32 oz bag for frozen mixed vegetables (thawed) 1 - 4 oz of white grape juice (from baby food section)) 4 - 1 tablespoons of honey
Place 1/2 bag of vegetables, 2 oz of juice and 2 tablespoons of honey in the blender, then blender or chop to the consistancy of a thick relish.
Place or scoop into ice cube trays. Freeze them, Then pop them out and place in a freezer container so they don't get freezer burned.
Can then use the other half of bag for another batch.

and this also from SweetGliders.
FRUIT SMOOTHIE
1 - 5-6 lb bag for frozen mixed fruit (thawed & drained) 1 - 4 oz of white grape juice (from baby food section)) 4 - 1 tablespoons of honey 1/2 cup of Dannon vanilla yogurt or Yoplait french vanilla yogurt
Place 1/2 bag of mix fruit, 2 oz of juice and 2 tablespoons of honey and 1/4 cup of Dannon or Yoplait yogurt in the blender, then blender it to the consistancy of a thick smoothie. (not runny)
Pour or scoop into ice cube trays. Freeze them, Then pop them out and place in a freezer container so they don't get freezer burned.
(Then do the other half of the bag with juice and honey and yogurt.)
Serve: 1 fruit cube per 1 glider each day or 1 1/2 fruit cubes per 2 gliders each day. along with their BML and Vegetables.

I make sommthies for my gliders every night. Here is a suggestion. Leave out some bannanas until the outside covering of the bannana are almost completly black then blend them in. The ripened fruit adds a lot of flavor and taste to the mix.

Well, I tryed it last night. I went a bought a magic bullet blender. I wanted something small that would travel well. I put watermelon, apple, acuca gum, bee pollen and blended it, then added some baby cereal to thinken it up then added a few drops of honey. It looked SO nasty but they did eat some of it. So, I thinkg this may work. That is until they change there minds again. Silly Critters
I thinkg this weekend I am going to try Becci ideas. Thank You for those ideas by the way.

thanks for the recipes--here's one I made tonight and they loved it! 1/2 cup strawberry yogurt, 1 mango-chopped up, 1 gala apple-chopped up, 4 tablespoons of no-sugar added canned crushed pineapple; I blended it up. Nothing else added-seemed to go over well. Lately our's has been leaving all their veggies and eating the fruits and BML. hope y'all are well.

I made the veggie mix because my little guy wasn't eating veggies at all. I tried everything. This is chopped up like a thick relish so he still has the chewing power of it. Not smooth like bml. I still offer him the fresh vegetables once in awhile but they go untouched. Same with the fruits.

I haven't tried the fruit smoothie yet because fruit isn't a problem in our house. It was the vegetables. I started the VEGETABLE RELISH a few days ago and I honestly thought they we're going to eat the dish that I put it in also. I am thrilled that they are finally eating a well rounded diet which includes fresh fruit and BML. Where was this recipe when my kids were little????

Thanks! I got my two new gliders last night and was worried they may be a picky eaters from their last home. Come to find out they eat more veggies than fruit....strange. My last two gliders would not touch veggies. I think I may try the relish sometime even though they eat solid veggies just to mix things up a few times a week.
