I use a super pets 8oz bottle (plastic) for my cages because they're a great size, if they fall, they won't hurt any gliders (I have re-decorators) and they don't have a spring behind the ball. (I hate the spring ones)

I used to have the glass lixit bottles and LOVED them, but if you have them inside a reptarium, they are heavy and NOT safe, in my opinion. Outside a cage though, they're AWESOME.

Alot of people also swear by the little bird bottles that snap in between the bars on the outside of the cage. You don't have to worry about a ball getting stuck, they have minimal leakage and the ball doesn't get bacteria behind it.

dunno It's a matter of opinion really.

BUT I would NOT get the flat, plastic lixit bottles with the ducky floater. I bought 4 and EVERY ONE of them leaked terribly!

I agree with Amanda. The flat bottles are horrible! I really like the Critter Canteens and hate the bottles from Walmart. Every single one of those leaked, no matter how much of a vacuum I created in them.

oh you mean www.sugar-gliders.com. That bottle looks good! As long as you attach it to the outside of your cage so they won't come in contact with the spring!

That's Suncoast - I have one of theirs and two Lixit glass from petco -- All three are (more or less) identical, don't leak and seem to be liked by Candy and Ferb :->

Yes, the glass bottles are great! But like I said, if you have a reptarium, then I would get plastic to avoid injury. dunno Outside of the cage though, MAGNIFIC! roflmao

I use this water bottle for both of my cages and LOVE it!! I don't like regular water bottle because I have read too many posts about their bottles malfunctioning and the glider getting dehydrated.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750996

I have NEVER had any malfunctions with this bottle and they can drink as much as they want.

I'm one of the ones who uses the plastic bird feeder type. Got mine off ebay, and it works GREAT. I empty and rinse mine (and leave it apart to dry) every morning, but I only put just a little in it to begin with. About once a week, I wash it with dawn. My girls love it more than any other water apparatus they've tested, and trust me, there's no arguing with them smile

I bought one of the plastic flat back Lixit bottles and I hate it now. The first few days were fine, but this morning I woke up to my drop tray full of water. I was so mad, although Zeth seemed to be having a ball trying to play in it through the bottom of the cage.

Those bird feeder ones look really cool. I guess I'll try that.

I use the PETCO brand water bottles and have 1 glass "super Pet" brand water bottle. They all work great! I have never had problems with mine in 3 years. I still also keep 2 to 3 water bottles on every cage, just in case though!!!

I have two bird feeder bottles and recently threw one away bc it was leaking all into my cage. I went to one of the blue SuperPet bottles that has the ball in the metal tube. I'm concerned my glider's aren't drinking from it though.

Well, I would def. get another water bottle or 2 to put with that one, incase they are having a hard time with it. Every time I refill my water bottles, I hang them back on the cage, (make sure your hands are totally dry) and roll the ball on the water bottle tube with your finger tip, to make sure water is coming out properly.
I know someone who got a glass water bottle and once it was refilled, if something wasn't perfect (guessing how tight the top was or how filled it was), no water would come out if you touched on the ball.

Also, if you're ever worried about the amount your babies are drinking, it's never a bad idea to add a little water to your food dish. The food flavors the water, which makes them want to drink it more. I put just a splash (half to a whole shot glass full) of bottled water in my food dishes every night, and my girls love it.
