I have a girl that somehow seems to find every feather and alpaca fur product we have during play time and she will get ahold of them and bite and pull on them and we can't get her to let go. She is normally a big sweetheart and never bites but trying to get her to let go of the feather or alpaca fur bear she just gets mean. My question is: am I right in trying to keep these things away from her??? I was thinking feathers and fur might not be the best for a glider. ANY input will be greatly appreciated!!

My gliders go crazy for feathers too!!! Romeo gets very possesive of his feathers! Lol!
I think the feathers are ok as long as you are supervising them while they play with them. If they start chewing the feather to pieces then replace it.
I only let them have the feathers during tent time.

My girl more than possesive! Man alive did she bite me hard when I tried to take it away from her. She has never bite anyone before. She plays SO hard with them, biting and pulling that I'm afraid she will pull off pieces and choke on them. But I was reading some others places last night that lots of people let them play with feathers. I just would have thought if they pulled off pieces it would be bad for them.

Does anyone else have alpaca fur teddy bears or pillows that your gliders love? She does the same thing with those. And just doesn't want to let go of them.

I'm afraid of the same thing. If mine start to tear pieces off of the feather then I replace it.
My sweet Romeo bit me when I tried to take his feather. It was just a warning bite. It wasn't super hard. But he never bites at all either. It's liked they are possesed when they have their feathers! Lol! wink

Tie a feather to something (like those cat toys) and then make them chase it. It's SO funny!
