So, I got my Pell grant money back and bought my guys a 260 gallon reptarium which i ADORE and so do they...Along with the other things I purchased, I bought a wodent wheel and Gaer does just fine, infact, he runs his little legs off. Gaz and Cubby looked at it, looked at me, and turned up their noses...They REFUSE to go into it..I've even hidden their favorite treats. Maybe they just aren't the wheel type? Any ideas? And if there is no hope...Anyone want a wodent?

I had got in a little rescue that had never had a wheel before. He had no idea what one was for. What I did was take him in the tent with the wheel and put him in the wheel and slowly turned it until he started walking. After a few attempts at this, I would turn it faster. Didn't take him long to figure out that he LOVES his wheel (I use stealths).
On the wodents, yes, you leave the front on it.

Give it some time...they are just leary of the big scary monster invading their home right now ....plus, some young glider's take a little longer to get their courage up. In no time, you will be asking how to keep the Wodent's quite at night time ...(just put a little veggie oil in the bearings). Karin

Hehehe.. I dunno, Gaz runs on the outside of it, which makes me paranoid! I think she was too young to have figured out the wheel when I got her home, and now, she's just not sure of it. Cubby...Just stares at it like is a peice of modern art he can't figure out and has started to put his toys in it like a toy box lol. I dunno. I'll just wait and see.

PDD, I use zip ties to tie the wheels to the side of the cage. It keeps it from tipping over or flying accross the cage.I was using twist ties, but one morning I woke up to frantic barking, I came out and the girls had trapped themselves in the wheel, one of them had chewed off/untied one of the twist ties, and as they were running on it, it moved until it hit the back wall of the cage with them still in it.... CaptivatedK I hope they figure it out, lol..
