Does anyone know how many monkeys you get in a Barrel of Monkeys?

I have monkeys, but they are so scattered around the cages, I don't know how many there were in the original barrels.

Mine have 12 per barrel. Good luck finding them all! They are like socks in the dryer! They do seem to disappear!

Ok another dumb question, I have heard mention of the monkeys and toy soldiers etc... do you leave these in the cage for night time play, or just under supervision? (I am afraid they will chew on them)

I am looking for toys that I can leave overnight to keep them enriched while I sleep.

I leave mine in the cage. But if you do, just make sure you check the toys and if they are being chewed, then remove them. It depends on the glider. Some are chewers, some not.

I think when I was in bed with pneumonia, whoever cleaned the trays, chucked most of my monkeys with the bedding. They have a habit of falling through to the tray. I was rummaging through everyone's sleeping pouches last night and I found all sorts of things, but very few monkeys.

Momofthree other plastic items that you can leave in there that they like to carry around/off are , plastic easter eggs, plastic cookie cutters, and also baby links or shower curtains. We make chains with those, but I also like to leave a few loose ones in there, so they can carry them off.

I find those little monkeys all over the place! I gather them every morning or afternoon and place them back in the barrels in between washing them, it's a vicious cycle!!!

momofthree, you can get almost anything that a toddler or a baby would be allowed such as a Ring of plastic keys, the links that Catherine mentioned.

In Wal-mart down the baby aisle, we saw all sorts of .99 things that can be used, chew toys for babys, mobiles, etc. Just not anything with liquid squishy stuff inside.

We have weeble wobbles that are a lot of fun to watch. The only thing is they lean a little more in the cage vs. straight up on a normal surface, but nonetheless fun to watch suggies wrestle with them.

I have a weeble wobble question. I got one, but it looks like it is made of a hard rubberized material. Do they chew that up or not? I wasn't sure if it was safe to leave in cage or not?

I have monkeys everywhere!!!!! My gliders pass them from cae to cage but mine came with 20. I find them thrown across the room on my bed every morning, think my babies are telling me to wake up or somethin...
I even find them behind the dresser on the floor now how they pull that off I have no idea since they both have a blanket n the backside of their cage!!!
I have found litle oys like cars and people work well too. I also have the litle stuffed big headed dogs from McDonalds that keep my babies intertained. Stitch and Ipso have one special one they sleep with, Even though they now have Aisha with them. Its like their own litle baby.

How do the monkeys work? Do you hang them, lay them or leave them in the barrell? I'm a little confused about this one.

I hang them all over the cage for the gliders to find. You can also hook one hand on the cage and put a treat like dried fruit or grapes on the other hand for them to find. They will throw them everywhere, they will carry them into their pouch and sleep with them. I have one glider who GUARDS his!

I just bought a package of plastic dinosaurs too! They were next to the army men, but they looked neater and life-like --But smaller of course

I can't find monkeys anywhere in town, so I toy soldier and I find them every where... Mosty dunked into their food, stuck between bars, hanging from ropes and now witht he reptarium I'm finding them shoved behind the framing and under the soft tray. Beware though! If you have chewers, i don't usggest giving them too many at a time.. Gaer tore apart quite a few and then learned that if you chew and twist, you can take limbs off..It looked like WWII in his cage...little army people parts scattered to high heaven..

Gizzy LOVES his monkeys....and he's usually not a "toy" guy at all, more content to run and jump and be crazy....but I noticed this morning that a few of the poor monkeys' hands were a bit chewn, same with the jax he has....what should I do, those are his absolute favorite, but I'm nervous that he may chew and swallow?.....not swallow a big piece, but a tiny piece of plastic he happens to be gnawing on....

How Cool! I had heard about the Monkey's but was curious as to what the suggies would do with them. I think I am going to have to invest in a set now

gogogliders

Sorry I didn't see your weeble wobble question until now.... no they cannot really get a grip or a bite rather to be able to chew them... I do see little scratches on them, and the monkeys but not enough to take them away...

On the Monkeys, we just leave them in the barrels and find them in the nesting boxes, pouches, in the wheel, all around, and I think they would carry them all off, but some of the monkey arms get caught on the bottom of the cage, so those monkeys are just left behind.............. They're the MIA Monkeys (MIAMs)....The ones they take are the POWMs.....
