We've been testing an ruling out multiple causes. First was giardia: we tested multiple times, the tests were negative, so we ruled it out. Second, we tested for a possible infection: for Leda we put her on Baytril in case she had an infection and for Rosa we did a C&S to test for the infection...Leda didn't improve on the Baytril and Rosa's test came back negative, so we've now ruled out an infection. Third was the mites, but the vet said the mites wouldn't have caused the problems with the gliders. Fourth thing to test was the blood to check for any anomalies and to test the cal:phos levels to check for calcium deficiency: the blood panel was normal and the cal:phos levels showed that she had calcium deficiency, so, now we're up-ing her calcium and are testing other gliders to see if the calcium deficiency is from underlying problems or from their diet.

I don't see anywhere in all of that where I have decided that diet is the problem. We've been testing and ruling things out. If something comes up, then we look into it further to find out the cause. The current thing we're working on is the calcium deficiency and so now I'm taking the necessary steps to see if the calcium problem is from their diet or not. If Woodrow's levels are low as well, we're going to be leaning towards a diet issue and will test other gliders as well. If his levels are normal, but Arby's are low, then we'll be leaning towards it being an underlying issue and will then continue testing to look for what could be causing the calcium deficiency that is NOT diet-related.

When stating the "HPW" does not have the correct ratio of calcium to phosphorus, are you speaking of the actual High Protein Wombaroo POWDER made in Australia or are you referring to Peggy's "HPW diet" itself?
