On 2/1 is when my joeys came oop and one passed away and my little boy (Trooper) is doing great. I am feeding him twice a day and mom/dad are still caring for him. On 2/27 I am leaving for a trip. I am leaving Monday and coming back Thursday. I have arrangements for all my gliders to be fed/watered while I am gone. I am a little freaked out now about leaving my joey since I have been feeding him. I do not have anyone around me who is familar with feeding Trooper and that the parents are comfortable with. When does the supplementing stop and what do I do for the 3 days I am gone? I have actually thought of not leaving and my bettter half was not happy!! Any advice please??

I know a lot of breeders that Supplement only for the first couple of weeks till the mothers milk supply catches up...SO...I guess if taking her isn't an option I would probably try easing off on the supplementing and see if the momma is picking up the slack-try cutting out one feeding or try giving him less during each feeding and see how he does...then gradually decrease your supplementing till you have to leave...I would think that your little guy should be just fine with his momma while you're gone~But I'd start streight away since you're leaving in 7 days, that way you'll know if it's going to work well before you HAVE to go, and you won't be forced to make any last minute decisions..I'm sure a breeder who has more experience will be along shortly and they may be able to give you more specific advice on how to handle this Good Luck though and Enjoy your trip

What about trying to find an experienced glider sitter in your area? Go to www.glidersitters.myfreeforum.org and see if you can find someone. I think most people do it for free. Good luck Kristen.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOOOO HOOOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!
