Going to the vet tomorrow.

Passing out mealies tonight while on the phone with Trigger, I noticed Joharra with a big old hard *bubble* emerging from her pouch. Although it *appears* to look like mastitis the teat is not visible at all.

Anyone else ever have anything like this before?

Nope, she isnt messing with it at all...it DOES look painful, but not hot to touch, and all she could think about was getting her mealies, she could care less about anything else.... ohwell

The last time I saw anything that looked like that was when my mom's dog killed her female glider. When she saw the female, she was laying on her back with a bubble exactly like this in the exact same spot. When she moved the bubble, there was a joey under it, approx 2 weeks IP. (I saved the joey...long story some other time) Any chance there's a baby under the bubble?

It does look like an abcess. Let's hope it is something simple like that, that can be drained & treated. I am anxious to hear what you find out and hope all is well!

As I thought...it was not mastitis...what was it? Well, we dont know. By 6 this evening the entire bubble and any discolored pouch area were GONE...her pouch looks perfectly normal and I get the looks like I am crazy and have lost my mind...glad I got the pics to prove it.

A culture will be sent off to see if anything shows up, but as for tonight, her pouch is perfect looking and everything seems fine...

Although I am thankful for that, it does make me wonder. Could it be that she had some kind of dirt in there that could have caused that ?? Who knows....guess we will have to see if anything comes back with the culture.

Wow, that is strange. Were you able to tell if this was located around one of her nipples? I'm wondering if one could have inverted and then reverted.
Did she recently have joeys? dunno

Linda, by looking in her pouch, you really couldnt tell WHERE it was...Tim told me to keep an eye on it and if there are any changes at all, well of course to take her in.

I have some weird allergies sometimes where the lining in my eye and right underneath my eye swell up like crazy huge and I can barely see. I put a warm compress on it and it goes down in about an hour and you'd never know...maybe it was something like that, a random irritant that her body reacted against.
