My question is...Is it ok to use enzyme cleaners designed for Pets? Like Natures Miracle or the such that is used to clean pet stains and remove odors? I have been just using pure hot water and soaking the heck out of everything and has done really well but now BamBam has a girlfriend the smells have gone off the scale. I know that he is marking things more and I would like to be able to clean at least once a month really good to get rid of the smell.

The trick to cleaning is not to clean everything at once. Most people do cages one time and pouches the next. By doing a once a month super cleaning you are setting yourself up for one heck of a scenting party I'm not sure about the products you have chosen but hopefully someone else will come along and have an answer. I always use hot soapy water and lots of rinsing for all my glider things.

I usually just wash the pouches and leave the cage itself for once a month and when I do the cage I usually don;t do the pouches...I have a bottom to the cage so they cant get to the substrate in the bottom and I change that each week. Just was wondering about the stuck on stuff for an easier way to clean the cage itself.

I use either Lysol or Clorox wipes in between the soap and water cleaning to remove food debri and clean off sticky areas. There is no bleach in either of those and it works great. I do this while they are sleeping.

we have 5' cages, and I use a big steamer (50 oz capacity).. and as long as I don't get distracted and forget to do the bottom one of them it goes great.. I steam with a scrub-brush attachment, then wipe down the section with a rag, then onto the next... that way any solid gunk that got loosened and didn't fall off comes off on the rag.. and I do both the outside and inside of the cages.. though I only flip them on end every few weeks and do the underside of the base... (we don't have drip pans, instead they sit on changeable pieces of polar fleece.)

I usually just put mine in the shower stall and turn on straight hot water. No soap or anything just turn the faucet on hot all the way and away I go. Seems to work but I was wondering if I should us an enzyme cleaner to help get the stuff that I might have missed. You know just soak the heck out of the cage and things and let it sit. Then go in like couple hours later and hose the suckers down with straight hot water again. Just an idea, but I like the carwash idea also. Load them into my truck and off we go...LOL. Thanks for all your ideas.

Every or every other day, I change the newspaper. I also wipe the cage down w/ diaper wipes. Once every two weeks.I steam my cage, it only takes water and it works great! The alternating week I run all their toys through the dishwasher w/ just a smidge of soap and I wash their pouches. I really don't know about the products you mentioned. I try to use as much all natural cleaning elements as I can. They may be perfectly safe???? I dunno????
