hmm that's odd. It sounds as if the ing. were not blended long enough. I've never had my hpw freeze chunky. Hope someone has an answer for you

There was a thread about this a month or 2 ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Mine never freezes even despite much blending. I chop it back up after it starts to freeze to even it out. The egg and bee pollen are always on top making it very hard and the honey is always on bottom making it gooey and not quite frozen there. It sounds like the honey in yours is keeping it from freezing solid. Either too much honey or it's seperated but usually the honey sinks from being heavy instead of the top being softer. The applesauce variation where some of the honey is replaced with applesauce freezes much better for me but I don't really want to change the recipe by that much.

I must be lucky, because I've never had this problem. I've been making HPW since Christmas. I just made my second batch and it seems to freeze just fine. There is a layer on the top that has a lot of bubbles in it, so I just mix that in really well before it freezes.
Here's the recipe I use: 2 cups warm water 1-1/2 cup honey 3 scrambled eggs 1/4c High Protein Wombaroo Powder 1 tablespoon bee pollen
Cook Eggs, set aside.
In large bowl mix water and honey. Stir until honey is dissolved. Add in HPW powder, mix well.
In blender add in eggs, bee pollen and 1/2 to 1 cup HPW liquid. Blend for two minutes. Add in additional liquid and blend for another two minutes.
So there's a lot of blending involved. Are you blending it long enough in each step?

I think I've blended mine for 30mins and it still does it. I just walked off and left the food processor going until I smelled the motor getting warm. I decided it is not the blending after that but I still repeated the experiment with a smaller batch in the magic bullet with the same results. I'm sticking with my theory of how fast it's freezing in different peoples' freezers. I'm going to throw the next batch (should be mixing it tomorrow) in the chest deep freezer and see if it makes a difference.

Are you freezing it all in one bowl to scoop out servings? If it is a deep bowl, it will have time to separate before it freezes all the way through. Try freezing in a shallow container or ice cube trays. I found (with my Blended diet) that it was very easy to freeze the mixture in a shallow container then "cut" it into serving portions. With HPW you would probably need two containers (the recipe makes about 160 1/2 TBS portions so two containers cut into 40 cubes per container (each cube would feed 2 gliders) The Blended diet makes 60 portions so I only cut into 30 cubes in the photo. My current favorite way to freeze my glider diet are these ice cube trays made for water bottles. They are covered, stack easily and when I evenly divide the 60 portions of the Blended diet into the three trays I get exactly 30 cubes - each cube is two glider portions. I have not measured it out but I think you could use trays like these for HPW - but you would need 8 trays. Either cubes or the tube tray portions make it very quick and easy to serve the frozen glider diet each night.

thats EXACTLY the recipe i follow! ya know tho, after 2 days of lots of stirring , it froze perfect! its perfectly smooth and all the ingrediants are even!!! but it took a full 32 hours for it to properly freeze, but it finally got there! lol

If it took 32 hours to freeze - you might want to check the operation of your freezer. That means other foods you put in to freeze, that you are not checking the next day to scoop out some to serve, might not be freezing properly either!

I found the blue ice cube trays at Publix when they had a special display of kitchen gadgets but I have not seen them since. I did find them on line at Ace Hardware. I have not checked to see if the local store carries them or not. here are a couple online sources http://www.currentcatalog.com/077513.htmlhttp://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(c4lh0e45r5rgmgypze3t2m45)/productdetails.aspx?sku=6159347&source=GoogleBase

I'd say have your freezer looked at. Mine starts to freeze right away and I have to mix in the top part quickly or it'll all be frozen hard.

My smaller freezer has a frozen layer within the hour and solid over night. If it takes a day or more to freeze either something is screwy with your freezer or a mistake was made with the recipe.

I stuck the next batch in the chest deep freezer. Perfectly frozen. I've dug down most of the way through it while feeding it out the past couple days and have not found an uneven spot. I'd say it's really in how fast it freezes not so much how well you blend it. Use a better freezer or seperate it in to several smaller containers and it should no longer seperate.

I bought some trays like those at the dollar store and also Family Dollar. Maybe they have some where you live? I have been making fruit smoothie and freezing it in those.
