I just received my plastic chain in the mail today and I`m hoping it isn`t too small for injuries. I`m pretty sure I ordered the 1/2"....is this safe?

I made a mistake...my chain is 1 inch lol, they don`t even have 1/2" chain on that site. I was able to find the site again to remember what I ordered. OK, so the question is, is the 1 inch chain safe?

This is a great site for buying toy making stuff. http://www.rockportroost.com/partindex.html someone else passed it along a few days ago. I believe I ordered the 1/2 an inch. I am not possitive that is the right size but I campared their pictures to toy pictures from glider sites. they looked about the same size. but I could have been way way off.lol.. There are other great things at that site too. like the baboo chews. My kids love them I will stick mealing in them and they have a blast tearing them apart to get to the mealies. I hope you find lots of goodies. Twylite

Thank you! That`s where I ordered my chain from and I have to say the shipping was very fast! I`ll just use up the 1 inch and order 3/4" from now on. I wasn`t sure if the smallest was safer or the largest chain was the safest. I can`t wait to make them some new toys now again!

I must be weird, I prefer the thicker bulky chain, as I have noticed they have more to grip on and tend to walk/play on that more. I like the 1" links best :-D

If you want to buy 1" chain, The Bird Safe Store has it for $0.25 a foot or cheaper when you buy in bulk.

Thanks for taking the time to post some pics ...I just made a couple toys out of my 1 inch chain tonight and I`m very pleased with it Xglider, the 1 1/2" almost looks like it could maybe be a little too big? Or almost close to too big? Does it look like they could get a leg through them, or stuck, twisted up in it? Or am I just being too cautious lol....It just looks that way in the picture. Sometimes it`s hard for me to judge or make those kind of decisions. I definitely want to order some more though. I think I`m going to get the 1 inch again and also some of the 3/4". I`m having so much fun making things with this chain and it looks so cute!!

Thanks Xglider. I think probably the best way to prevent them from getting tangled in the chain is maybe to have some kind of weight at the bottom of the chain so they can`t lift it up enough to get tangled. It sounds like all 3 sizes maybe safe for these guys then. It`s so nice to meet people from around my area! Wish you were stilll here, it would be nice to have a gliderfriend nearby ....you`re not missing too much, nothing new going on here really, but you`re lucky you don`t have to deal with the cold and snow down in nice, sunny Florida I have to say that I`m quite jealous Please post back and let me know how the 3/4" and the 1 inch chain works out for you
