Hi guys, I took my 2 gliders with me for the first time on a weekend trip. The first night went very well, but the second night I could not sleep because I constantly had to jump out of bed to quiet them down!My husband and me lived in a guesthouse and hotel and I was so worried that the babies will wake up the people next door! They were hissing ALOT and sometimes even crabbing, although they did not look stressed at all. they are used to their travel cage, which is relatively big. I really think they were just trying to wake me up to let them out! What do you do when you go away with the gliders eg. where do you put the cage and is their any way to keep them calm and less noisy throughout the night? I love to take them with but it is so stressfull when I keep having to worry if they will keep me, and the neigbours up all night!!!we go away quit a bit for a weekend or so and I do not want to leave them with other people that I know wont look after them properly, and I can take them with but I am so tired the next day! any advice will be greatly appreciated!

One thing to remember is that your little ones will understandingly be uset whenever they are in a new environment with new sounds and smells. What I did from the beginning is to play soft instrumental music throughout the day and night at their home. I always take their cd and small music player with whereever we go. If I play the music they are used to, they are happy as can be. I also make sure to give them a bit longer playtime and treats.

I've noticed for the traveling talkers that the darker things are the better for them. It's almost like they don't even realize they are somewhere new. Most hotels have a small clothes closet, you could try that if cage will fit in there. I use the 65 gallon reptariums and they fit in there just well. Or if not, you could use the bathroom, the only bad thing is the bathroom at times makes them sound even louder. When traveling, use everything from their cage at home. Don't offer clean pouches & toys- the extra scent will help them feel right at home.

I did try putting their whole cage in the bathroom but that just seem to make them sound louder! at the end I let them out of the cage to play around in the room(that was round 4am) hoping this will keep them busy and quiet. The problem is that they then were noisy jumping around on everything incl us!
