They just escaped! I cant believe it. I was awoken by some shuffling noise. I get up to see what’s going on and find him out of the cage. Next I hear more shuffling in a bedroom. I go in and there she is on a blanket trying to hide from the light. I put her back and look for my other trio. NOTHING!!! I can’t hear her, I can see her. I start turning on all the lights. The cat thinks is time to eat and goes towards the kitchen. I start to talk to the cat and then I hear the Famous side shuffle noise. . . She is down the Basement! I find her and she jumps up on me. I don’t understand how they got out. I have the Sun Coast deluxe cage http://www.sugar-gliders.com/sugar-glider-cage.htm I am in a panic. I keep checking on them to see if they are still in there as I type this. There were no doors open. I have the magnets over the bottom like Lisa said to do. I just don’t see anyway they could have gotten out . . . Yet alone all three. They are not even giving me a hint as to where their special escape spot is (when the poke their heads forcefully to get through something). Has anyone else had escapes with this cage? It's been about 30 minuntes and still no more visible escapes. (And I was expecting that they would actually do that in front of me) I hope the sun comes up soon!

I have that cage with no escapees. I think it's a combination of that I haven't given them a chance or a reason to want to escape. I can open Erwin and Brisbee's cage doors while they are playing and they don't want to come out. They are content with all the time they already have with me and all the toys in their cage. How do you have the doors shut? All the little doors I have zip ties on. The big door on the bottom also has a zip tie and the top big on I use most often has a small padlock and key.

Oh no, I have that cage too. Fortunatly like Tonia I have two boys that don't want to come out even when the doors are open. I have had no escapes, but I don't put zip ties or anything on the doors.
I hope you have found your kids by now. I know that must be frustrating and worrysome at the same time. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I have the smaller cage from SunCoast, and I zip-tied the feeding doors (I think that's what they are) plus I zip-tied any spaces that they could fit their head in.
No escapes! (yet...)

Hmmm...might want to order covers for the slits the grill and try come out of. I think Lisa said they were $10 which includes shipping.

I have this cage and mine escaped too, It's the bottom of the cage. You need to tie wire it, it's the wire bottom where it meets the cage there is about a 1 inch gap and that's how they get out.

I actually put the magnet covers over the bottom where the gap is located (just like Lisa recommends) so they could not get through. They have given me a clue last night. I suspected they had lifted the doors, so I tied them with fleece. They untied the fleece and I could hear the door banging. I now have luggage locks on them so they can no longer be lifted.

I have a similar hex cage, although I didn't get mine from SunCoast, and I don't have those nifty magnetic slot covers. Keiko escaped once (but I probably just left the door open on that event). Hiroshi has had THREE escapes. He's more adventuresome. The first two times (the same night), I couldn't figure out how he was getting out. The bottom where the trays slide in did provide a nice gap, though, and especially where the horizontal bar connects. Now I pull those grate trays up with mini bungee cords and stuff a rag in the hole where the two trays fit together. I also have mini bungee cords securing all doors shut.
His most recent escape was last night. I was terrified! After some tent time, I put them both in the cage, then went to get their dinner. Keiko was eagerly waiting to chow down, but Hiroshi was nowhere to be seen. I then realized when I last cleaned the tray bottoms that afternoon, I didn't put the bottom grate on properly. There was a HUGE gap! I was bawling my eyes out, running all over the house crying for him. Of course, I was imagining the worst, and frantic at how frightened he must've been. Fortunately, Jeff found him high up on a curtain rod; the valance was hiding him. He crabbed and bit at Jeff, but when I went to him, he crabbed softly, then jumped on my hand and ran down my top. Thank goodness he finds safety in my bra! I don't know what I would've done if we hadn't found him so quickly (although it seemed like an eternity).
The other possible place he might've escaped the first two times was where the top fits on. Check those as well. On my cage, there were gaps large enough for him to possibly squeeze through (before I pushed that top firmly down). Hope you find your babies soon!
