I just have a couple questions about the ingredients of Glideraide.

Sucrose, soya protein isolate, whole wheat flour, dried whey, xanthan gum, corn gluten meal, dehydrated alfalfa, dicalcium phospate, dried brewers yeast, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, bee pollen, corn oil, artificial blueberry flavoring, methionine, salt, spirulina, beta carodene, canthaxanthin, propolis, choline chloride, ascorbic acid, (vitamin c), niacin, vitamin e acetate, magnesium oxide, potassium chloride, manganese sulfate, zinc sulfate, vitamin a acetate, calcium pantothenate, d-activated animal sterol, (source of vitamin d3), copper sulfate, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (msbc vitamin k), thiamine, pyridoxine, riboflavin, folic acid, cyanocobalamin, (vitamin b-12), biotin, sodium selenite.

So what catches my eye is the Sucrose and Artificial Blueberry Flavoring. This kind of raises a red flag for me. Anyone here use Glideraide? What do you think about these ingredients?

I'm just trying to decide whether or not to purchase it. I'm looking for a nice nectar to feed my kids.

I use gliderade. As a treat and occasional supplement I have no problem with the ingredients. Gliderade does have many beneficial nutrients in it as well. We eat far worse at every meal. The odd bit of junk food is not going to kill my gliders any earlier than genetics will allow. Do you live your whole life without ever having ice cream, chocolate, or soda? Gliderade would be a healthier treat for gliders than any of those things for humans.

Now if you want something to have available majority of the time then you might want to keep looking but good luck. I doubt you'll find a 100% healthy mix for gliders that they also will eat. I had 2 other nectar mixes that I can't remember the name and none of my 5 would touch them but will enjoy some gliderade occasionally.

Well, I did find the acacia gum too, and that seems pretty much all natural. I'm looking for something I can feed to them regularly, several times a week, maybe even daily. I was considering Glideraide however I'm not entirely sure how I should use it if I were to purchase it.

Do you see a significant difference in their activity and health? Like in comparison to before you started feeding it smile

actually i do. since adding it in, i believe it helps the females produce more milk. and i also believe it adds some acacia gum into the diet along with added nutrients wink They LOVE it. smile

Very good! I put in an order for just the straight acacia gum. I'll see how they like it and I will continue thinking about the Glideraide. If anything, for a treat. I don't breed anymore though so I've got no use for extra lactation, hehe!

Sucrose is simply table sugar. Usually very fine granuals, almost like powdered sugar but not quite. (learned this from when I worked at a plant that made baking mixes)
