We started a poll two years ago listing 25 diets known for gliders, you can find the results here

I was asked if we can do another poll to see if things have changed over the past two years and agreed it would be great and interesting to do again.

Please read through the list of diets below and vote for the one that you feed to your gliders. If you have used multiple diets, please select only the diet that you are currently feeding so we can see the most up-to-date results.

Note: Glider Central does not intend this list to be considered as a "proven" diet list. When deciding which diet is right for your gliders please consult your vet, breeder, and be sure to check out the Diet and Nutrition board here on Glider Central.

Also Note: These diets are to be fed according to their specific instructions. Please remember that the majority of the diets listed are to be fed in combination with certain fruits, veggies, and/or insects along with the diet itself. Please research your diet to find the way it was intended to be fed. We will try and do another poll in six months from now to see if diets are changing. Please bring it to my attention if we forget. Votes will be enabled until January 25, 2011

candy's blended diet is a mixture between the BML and HPW. it has all the best of both worlds without the reptile vitamins. Uses a human grade calcium, the ca:ph ratio is 2:1 ( so no guesswork really) and yogurt is in it that provides the probiotics and she has several versions based on your needs. low fat etc. smile

I already voted 'other' but feed the Blended diet.

Can my vote still count for that?

I'm in the process of switching from BML to HPW. The girls really dislike the veggies BML is restricted to, so I decided to switch to a diet that allowed for a greater variety. I guess I'm a slave to their needs/wants already. smirk

I recently switched from HPW to Candy's Blended diet and what a change! My monkeys LOVE it - they're finally gaining weight!

Eddie, for those who voted "Other" before the Blended diet and others were added to the poll, were those votes transferred to the diet they actually feed? 13% voting for "Other" seems high, and I am curious as to what those other diets are.

I voted in this poll for the diet I was feeding before I switched to the Blended diet 3 nights ago. There will probably be quite a bit of fluctuation in the "true" numbers by the time the poll ends next January. A 5-month period seems like a long time to get accurate, up-to-date results of what diets are being fed at a certain point in time.

One thing about this poll is it really isn't accurate. I mean, not many are even casting their vote. It is only a representative of those that do vote, not the over all population.

That's true, but it is as accurate and representative of the total population as ANY poll would be, except the US Census where they come knocking on your door if you don't send it in! 120 votes so far is a pretty good sized sample.

My girls eat every morsel of Candy Ott's Blended diet. They had their wellness check recently and the vet said they were extremely healthy and at their optimum weight. I even gave her a copy of Candy's diet and she was going to use it for her gliders. I used to do the HPW diet but my girls left so much in their bowls that I tried Candy's diet. Glad I did.

My vet is also very impressed with the Blended diet. My crew has been on it since May of this year and they are doing fantastic.

Thanks. That's what I thought. It'll be a little off, because when I voted I was on BML, now I changed to Blended thumb

The current poll ends Jan 25 - if you have not already posted your glider's current diet in the poll please participate.

A lot of folks have indicated above that they voted "other" before additional diets were added or that they have changed diets after voting.

Perhaps a new poll could be started after this one is concluded.
