I keep reading how you should be spending hours during the day to bond with your glider, but what if you work during the day and can't bring your glider with you. Me and my barely 8 week old little girl are perfect bonding together but my 3 month old needs more bonding time. I've done the fleece squares to put with him during the day and once I get home around 7pm I take him out and wear him around in his pouch and I've even gotten to the point where I can stick my finger in his pouch but he is still biting me unless I always have something to lick off my finger. Is it just going to take longer because I can't spend any time with him during the day? The only days that I have are the weekend. Is that enough? Also, my two gliders don't even wake up until after 10pm at night. Is that normal?

Since you don't get home until around 7, 10ish is normal for your crew. You can gradually adjust their schedules to wake up a bit earlier so you can interact more.

I was fortunate and worked in a private office, so I had my babies either in my bra during the day, or in a pouch on my lap or on my desk. Now I primarily telecommute, so it's not an issue.

One thing that really helps is to try tent time. Here's a good link on that: Critter Hill tent time. You can pick up a nice tent at places like Wal-Mart or Target or a sporting goods store for around $20-$30. When you get home, maybe around 9 or so, you can take them both in to the tent. Even if your boy seems standoffish, just ignore him and play with your girl. Bring in their wheel, some interactive toys like a feather teaser, and licky treats like yogurt (no aspartame) or apple sauce. If both seem to ignore you, just sit and read a book or watch TV. The idea is to let them get comfortable around you. Eventually, they'll see you as a source of good things and will be playing on and around you. You'll also want to bring in Kleenex to wipe up little messes. wink

Good luck!

Another suggestion would be is when you get home from work and are settled in for the night, you can always get them up and put them into a bonding pouch or your bra and carry them around with you for the evening. I usually get my two up around 6-7 give them a little snack and put them in my bra. They stay there until around 10:30 11. Once they are up we play for about an hour and then they eat and go back to bed until about 2.

I work and do most of my bonding in the morning. I wake up an extra hour earlier so I can socialize with them. You can just wake them up on your own when you get home instead of waiting for them. They do get used to it. I only do the bonding pouch thing on the weekends.
