That is an awesome idea (having him holding your calf and turning around) I love it! I wish you the best of luck. I know that photobucket has some sketches (sometimes) on there as well as flikr. Best of luck to you and you MUST post pictures when you get! I can't wait to see it!

You should see the amazing one Lynsie has on her side. It's absolutely incredible!

I do have some Tattoo tips.
1) Never get any lettering on you, it looks HORRID. If you do, make sure it isn't your boyfriend. I have seen many people in the shop, getting the CURRENT bf's name tattoed OVER the ex bf's name. *faints*
2) Make sure it's what you want. Don't get ink on a fling, make sure you know it will be there for life. Cover ups hurt much more than the original tattoo.
3) go to an actual Tattoo artist. A garage doen't count. (lol)
4) Don't take any advice from anyone other than your artist (same goes for piercings)
5)Make sure the tattoo is in an area that you can cover it up if needed (ie: professional)
6) If the artist doesn't have a portfolio, don't bother. If they do, and the portfolio isn't to your taste, don't feel bad telling the artist "no thanks" and going somewhere that you know is good.
Nick, Have you ever had a sunburn? It's almost like that. A mild sunburn. LoL. The needle stays inside of a tube (what the artist holds) and the needle should only penetrate the first 3 layers of skin. I promise, if you have a good artist, and you get one, you'll be hooked. LoL!

I've seen a great glider tattoo on a foot somewhere on the internet that had flowers... try a Yahoo image search for sugar glider tattoo. Maybe that was where i found it

I just googled images of Australian native flowers and got thousands of hits. What colors would you like? This one is gorgeous, it's a fringe lily I love pics of gliders on branches or in trees. Do you have a tattoo artist picked out yet? They can help you pull together any ideas, colors, images, sizes and will work with you drawing up the design until it is exactly what you want. Seems like I recall a budding young artist in BG! Would you want a pic of one of your own gliders?
Sounds exciting! Keep us posted!

Just try to find something that YOU like. No, that you LOVE! It's going to be on your body FOREVER. When I am searching for a new tattoo, I like looking at other people's tattoo's just to get an idea. Search for tattoo on Yahoo/Google images, photobucket, and on myspace and you will easily fine a bunch. I agree with that ... also... REasearch your tatooist .. look at a lot of his work .. and love his work too ... also there are some great artistist her too .. here is a link to my web page showing my glider tat ... from the art work of Chris here on GC ... http://www.freewebs.com/xglider/artevolution.htm

I have 3 and wouldn't mind another, so there's an idea on the pain. For me the first few minutes hurt, but then the endorphins kick in and you start to see it come together and that is all you think about! Go to a reputable artist who is proud to show you their work and they should be able to help you with a design or make your idea into reality. My first was done almost 40 years ago (in my biker mama days) and was my own design of a butterfly on my lower right abdomen. Next I designed a symbol out of my 4 kids initials with a dragonfly on top of it on my right outer ankle and then a Native American sheild & feathers with my grandkids initials on it over my left ankle. Now, where to put the suggie..........................hmmmmmmmm??

I have several tattoos (one of the bunch I regret and one that was covered because it was an Ex's pressuring that got me into it haha.) In my opinion, they don't hurt it's just as if something sharp is scraping your skin, but not deep because as somebody else already said when they are done right you don't have to go past the third layer of skin. The only one that really hurt was when I had to go over one that was done much much too deep. My friend got one though, and she has a pretty low pain tolerance and cried...but she still didn't regret it at all, and laughs looking back on it. The pain lasts so short a time that as long as you get something you love it really doesn't hurt much in comparison to how excited you are.

Well out of the 3 i have my led hurt the most i think the guy was going in to deep and the color is off some, i have one on the back of my head and it only hurt in two places when the needle hit a nerve and I had my eye brow's done and recolored 2 times but I'd say if you find a good artist that knows what they are doing you should be just fine .
