I have looked at this web page. They seem to have taken their sales pitch from Pocket Pets and expanded on it to make you feel like you are purchasing the SPECIFIC Glider you have seen in the photos. If you look at the photos carefully - they are stock photos and many are of the same glider - the names change but not the photos - and I suspect the names of the glider parents are totally made up as well. You never see any sibling joeys posted (same parents). The also do not disclose that you are REQUIRED to purchase the cage, food and other supplies from them until you have selected two joeys to purchase and then move on the the next steps in the order process. The phone number on the contact page is a Portland Oregon area code. I am curious to learn where the joeys you ordered are being shipped from if you do not mind sharing. The ' breeder' claims to be a small breeder - but most 'small' breeders do not have 20 joeys that are 8 weeks OOP all at the same time ready to go to new homes. I doubt the owner of the web page is actually the breeder. She probably purchases joeys from many breeders and is actually a broker - in the same way Pocket Pets is a broker, not a breeder. I would have any joey purchased from this site vet checked as soon as you can to make sure he/she is healthy. Then just not worry about the source and love your joeys as cherished pets. The sales practice for this web page is based on deception but it does not mean that the joeys they sell cannot be wonderful pets.

Wow I just checked out that website. I agree, all the pictures are of a same glider in different positions and backgrounds. Also when you choose a glider or two it takes you to the next page where all of the sudden the one glider for $299 cost an amazing $662 with all that crap they sell. They don't even give you a choice in the matter! How can they do business like that? But the better question is: why would anyone purchase from a site such as this when so many reputable breeders are out there???!!! Wow… Wouldn't it be cheaper to adopt animals from a reputable breeder???

Bridget42 - If you've already purchased your little one from this site, please stick around and ask and questions that you have. And remember what CandyOtte said: The sales practice for this web page is based on deception but it does not mean that the joeys they sell cannot be wonderful pets.
I'm sure you'll still have a wonderful pet

When I first started looking at gliders I found them through a Google search. They sounded so much like Pocket Pets I was turned right off. Again, as everyone else has said, that doesn't mean the baby is going to be a horrible mess. My first glider, Jasper, is from a pet store. I've been told pet store babies are the worst. And you know what? Jasper is the best lil guy I could have asked for for a first time owner. We bonded almost immediately. So welcome to GliderCentral. Ask questions, enjoy the site, and definitely share your stories when you get the chance because I wanna hear them.

I almost bought from them but decided to go with a home breeder instead. I would try hoobly.com if you need a friend for yours

Congratulations on your new baby, I can't wait to hear all about her when you get her. Have you named her yet?

Hey there! Did you ever get your glider? I'm having some horrible customer service from them and now I'm a little worried about my babies arriving with no problem.

Glider Stork and Pocket Pets are actually affiliated it seems. On the Pocket Pets website they recommend Glider Stork for adopting gliders.

OK I just received a Sugar Glider from Gliderstork.com. I do not recommend using them at all. Also I will never purchase from this group again. I purchased one little girl on Nov 20th. I immediately received warm emails congratulating me. This warmth stopped over the next few days. They tell you that you'll be contacted within 48 hours regarding flight information. Well 48 hours came and went. I sent several emails and made several phone calls all were unanswered at first. Mark (I was told he was an owner) finally emailed me back telling who he was and agreed to get call me personally to follow up. Now in this email he introduced himself as Mark but at the end of the message he signed it Matt. When we spoke I called him on this and explained that this all appeared to be fraudulent. He stated he was with family for thanksgiving and they all call him Matt and thats why he mistakenly signed the wrong name. This was a total B.S. story. I've asked both Mark and Jay (The person who finally contacted me two days ago to arrange shipping) several questions. Both refused to answer. These questions were: Where is the business located? Who is the breeder? Where can I find the breeders USDA licensing information? What is the OOP date for Paige? (Paige was the company's assigned name her real name is Squeaks) Jay did tell me he usually ships around 6 pets per week now during the busy season. I asked him were he was located and he stated that he "Moves around a lot". Two days ago my pet was shipped from Atlanta Georgia. She flew on UA Cargo Pet Safe. Gliderstork.com says on their site that they have a proprietary shipping process. This process is: 1. A makeshift cage using the same starter cage wire from Pocket Pets. It measured 17"x11"x5" inside a live animal box. 2. A rag or cloth. However since I raised hell with Mark and Jay they included a pink pouch bag. 3. 1/4 of an apple sliced in two pieces. Thats it yes it was really a proprietary process. Yes I'm being sarcastic. Now the good news is I received what appears to be a healthy glider. She is however larger in size than I expected. Her head and and eyes see a bit smaller than the other adults Ive seen and held. So maybe she is the correct age. But who knows because they refuse to provide information. Again I DO NOT recommend this company. The entire group at Gliderstork.com seem extremely deceptive. Now as to their affiliation to Pocket Pets. They are two different companies. Gliderstork.com uses Pocket Pets for the materials and education. My interaction with everyone at Pocket Pets has been 100% fantastic. They were very helpful and I have enjoyed all the information they have provided.

And the plot thickens. I sent the invoice... Which shouldn't need to because they should have had a copy. I ordered on 11/20 and they act like the sales are so high that there is no way they can provide. The simple answer is: This company has a bunch of NON-USDA breeders and cannot provide specific details because that would be self incriminating. (This is not proven YET but my speculation is probably spot on) *************************** Now I am not a big forum participant simply because I don't have the time. But I do read them for information. However for those of you who are very active in the forums communities please pass along my last three posts in order for this message can get out. I do not trust these people at GliderStork.com and I fear they are not following the proper breeding guidelines.

I ordered on 11/20 and they act like the sales are so high that there is no way they can provide. Actually, their sales are that high as much as folks dont want to hear that. This company has a bunch of NON-USDA breeders and cannot provide specific details because that would be self incriminating. They actually do deal with all USDA licensed breeders, they HAVE to because they have to turn in their own paperwork as well. I'll see what I can find out. May take a couple days because I need to reach out to the breeder Taking a couple days to get information back is actually not a long period of time. Many breeders also have other jobs and lives outside of breeding gliders so they are not available 24/7 If you do not trust them, its simple, dont buy from them again. It sounds to me like you did get a healthy animal, and I would encourage you that even though your baby looks healthy, be sure to take it in for a wellness check and fecal float/smear to be certain. Doesnt matter who you purchase from, this should always be done. Also, when you have time, how about posting some pictures of your new baby for all of us to see? Although you may not have an actual OOP date, be happy you received a happy, healthy glider. And to put the questions out there with answers, Yep, Glider Stork is indeed affiliated with Pocket Pets.

I can totally understand your frustration in dealing with people that operate in the manner that they do. I got my first glider from PP as well and, although it wasn't an entirely unpleasant experience, I would never recommend them either. But, I agree with what's been said above and you should be very happy that you've received your little furrball healthy and turn your attention to her now Unfortunately, there's not much you can do except to continue to learn as much as you can on this board and try to educate future owners and help them along as well. Now! Where's a picture of this little one? We pictures here

All gliders deserve a loving home. You will probably get some instructions soon on which airport your gliders will be shipped to and when to pick her up. Did they sell you only ONE glider? If so you might want to go ahead and see if you can purchase another girl as well or a neutered male so they can be shipped together. This will eliminate the need to search for an cage mate for your glider and you will not have to deal with introductions. They will probably ship the cage and other products you were required to purchase from them to you in advance of the glider's arrival. It will probably be a cage much smaller than you will eventually want for your gliders so you may want to do some research on cages to you can order a larger one soon. In the mean time, read all you can on glider care, bonding and feeding. Look over the widely used glider feeding plans and choose one you would like to use for your glider. Your supplies may contain Glider Gravy which is actually CritterLove Complete which you can prepare following the directions on the package and feed that along with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables if that is the feeding plan you prefer. While this may not be the best source to get your first gliders from, you can be ready for your gliders and give them a great home no matter where they originated.

First, I wish when you google sugar gliders, this forum was the first one to pop up! But unfortunately ads do because they pay to be there! We made an impulse purchase for our first glider at a county fair while we were working in west Texas. I felt so guilty after buying her that way it took me a monthto register on this forum. Only to learn that everyone here has their opinion, and are very supportive no matter how or what brought you here. I have never felt so close to a community of people before! So, as humans we make mistakes and we learn. And the people of this forum will pick you up, brush you off, and help you with what ever they can. I love these guys! FOR THE LOVE OF THE GLIDERS!

You can contact your credit card companies and CANCEL the transactions on BOTH cards since you have not received the merchandise or any communication about how and when it will be delivered. Then begin your search again for a breeder that you can deal with directly, and meet your new gliders before purchasing. At least a breeder could provide you photos of THE SPECIFIC GLIDER you are considering. Glider Stork uses stock photos of standard grey gliders - the photos are repeated on their site - frequently multiple photos of the same glider (look closely at their markings especially the shape of the head stripe and the distance between the end of the stripe and the tip of the nose) labeled with different glider names leading you to believe the photos are of the actual glider you are purchasing. At best this is BAIT & SWITCH marketing.
