Is it possible for just weaned babies to really be sexually mature? My twin boys are a little over 9 weeks old (OOP April 15th), and just seperated from their parents last night. Tonight I noticed bald spots on both boys! I thought males had to be 6-8 months old to be sexually mature? Could this be for real, or might the spots fade after they're been out of the parents' cage for a few days? I'm attaching a picture of Brandon, the flash is a little bright but you can see the bald spot really well.

I was really hoping to be able to have a juvenile cage with the three girls I have that are all young, but now I'm really thinking that is a bad idea. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />

Bald spots can sometimes come as early as 6 weeks. It just happens sometimes. Don't werry. Doesn't mean he can have babies right away. I had one with a bald spot 6 months before any joeys came along. His female was already two years old. She was ready for joeys.

I agree with Bitsy. The bald spots can come long before they hit sexual maturity. I have had joeys start getting them as early on as 6 weeks oop, but they didn't have joeys until much later on.

Yeppers, Brodey had his bald spot at 13 weeks, but his pompom's didn't drop until he was almost 2 years OOP!
